Connect Hostfully to Houfy - Complete Integration Guide
Last updated August 25, 2026
This guide covers how to connect, what gets imported, and how the ongoing sync works.
What you get when you connect
All your active Hostfully listings imported into Houfy as listings you fully own and control
Listing content (descriptions, photos, amenities, bedrooms, fees, discounts) populated from Hostfully
Pricing and availability synced for the next 60 days at all times
Reservations from Hostfully imported and kept in sync via webhooks
One-click toggles for whether new Hostfully listings auto-import going forward
No double-bookings. Houfy blocks the same dates Hostfully has reserved (and vice versa)
How to connect
1. Sign in to your Houfy account.
2. Go to https://www.houfy.com/p/hostfully
3. Click Connect with Hostfully. You'll be redirected to Hostfully's authorization page.
4. Sign in to Hostfully (if not already) and approve Houfy's access to your account.
5. Hostfully redirects you back to Houfy.
6. You'll land on your Houfy listings page. Active Hostfully listings appear here within a minute or two as the initial import runs.
If you ever need to disconnect, you can do so from your Software partners page: https://www.houfy.com/channel-managers
What gets synced into Houfy
When a listing is imported (initial connect or later sync), Houfy pulls and saves the following from Hostfully:
Listing content
- Property name, summary, and full description
- House type (apartment, villa, condo, cabin, etc.) mapped to Houfy's category list
- Photos. Original URLs imported, then re-hosted on Houfy's CDN for faster page loads (handled asynchronously)
- Amenities. Hostfully's amenities mapped to Houfy's amenity taxonomy
- Bedrooms. Number of bedrooms, bed types per room, bathroom count
- Property descriptions. Neighborhood notes, the space, getting around, interaction with guests, house rules
- Check-in and check-out times, including any custom check-in instructions
Location
- Street, city, state, country, postal code
- Geocoded latitude and longitude
Pricing and rates
- Nightly base rate (per-property pricing config)
- Rate multipliers. Hostfully's per-day rate overrides, weekend pricing, seasonal adjustments
- Currency
Fees and discounts
- Cleaning fee
- Additional guest fees and extra-person fees
- Pet fees (if configured in Hostfully)
- Length-of-stay discounts (weekly, monthly)
- Last-minute and early-bird discounts (if set up in Hostfully)
Availability
- Synced for the next 60 days on every refresh
- Booked dates from Hostfully reservations
- Owner blocks and maintenance holds
Reservations
- All current and upcoming Hostfully bookings imported
- Each reservation links back to its Hostfully booking ID
How the ongoing sync works
After the initial import, Houfy keeps everything fresh in two ways:
1. Scheduled full sync (runs on a regular schedule)
Houfy automatically re-syncs every connected listing on a recurring schedule. Each run:
- Refreshes listing content (in case you updated photos, descriptions, etc., in Hostfully)
- Pulls the next 60 days of rates and availability
- Imports any new reservations
- Re-runs the photo import pipeline for listings whose photos changed
This runs in the background. No action needed from you - provided your listings imported successfully the first time. If none appeared at all, see If your listings do not appear below. If you make a change in Hostfully, it will be reflected in Houfy on the next scheduled sync at the latest, and often sooner via webhooks (see below).
2. Real-time webhooks
When something changes in Hostfully, such as a new reservation coming in, a guest cancelling, or pricing being updated, Hostfully fires a webhook to Houfy. Houfy queues the event and processes it within seconds:
- New reservations are imported into Houfy
- Reservation updates (date changes, guest count, status) are reflected on Houfy
- Cancellations free up the Houfy calendar
- Listing edits trigger a fresh sync of that listing
Webhooks make sure same-day reservations show up on Houfy without waiting for the next scheduled sync.
If your listings do not appear
The first run can come back empty. The most common reason is that the Hostfully account used to authorise the connection does not have property access. Nothing re-tries this on its own - the scheduled sync only refreshes listings that have already come in at least once, so if none did there is nothing for it to refresh.
To run it again yourself, go to https://www.houfy.com/channel-managers?channel=hostfully&step=2 and click Pull New Listings.
If you see a message saying no properties were returned for the account, reconnect from https://www.houfy.com/p/hostfully and sign in to Hostfully as an owner or admin user that has property access.
Manual sync option
If you want to force a refresh right now instead of waiting for the next scheduled run:
1. Go to your Houfy listings page.
2. Find the Hostfully-imported listing you want to refresh.
3. Click the listing and pick Resync from Hostfully (in the listing actions).
This re-runs the same import logic that the scheduled job uses, just for one listing on demand. Useful right after you make a big change in Hostfully and don't want to wait.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will connecting Hostfully overwrite listings I already created on Houfy?
No. Hostfully listings are imported as new Houfy listings. Your existing Houfy listings are untouched. You can choose the “Map Existing Listings” option if you would like to map them to your existing listings.
What happens if I disconnect Hostfully later?
Your imported listings stay on Houfy. They just stop receiving updates from Hostfully. Pricing, availability, and new reservations no longer flow in.
Can I edit a Hostfully-imported listing directly on Houfy?
You can, but any field that Hostfully owns will be overwritten on the next sync. Best practice: edit listing content in Hostfully, edit Houfy-only fields (like Houfy-specific marketing copy, social descriptions) on Houfy.
How do I know when the last sync ran?
The connection status on the Hostfully page in Houfy shows the last sync timestamp per listing.
What if a sync fails?
Houfy retries automatically. Persistent failures (such as a revoked token) trigger an email alert to the email associated with your Houfy account, prompting you to reconnect.
Can I sync only some of my Hostfully listings?
Yes. During setup you can choose which listings to import, and you can toggle individual listings on or off at any time.
