Rainy day activities at Panama City Beach. While we would all like our beach time to be sunny and warm, occasionally mother nature sends a little rain our way.

I would rather be at the beach with a little rain, than inland and sunny.

Plan ahead.  Even before you book your vacation, you should always know what the Rental Agreement cancelation policy is for weather related and other cancellations.  Rip Currents, what to look for, and how to stay safe.  Rip Currents can happen on a sunny day as well as on a stormy day.  Most access points to the beach have signs warning guest about rip currents, flag conditions and leaving no trace behind.  Make sure everybody in your party, reads and understands what to do if they find themselves caught in a rip current.  It only takes a few minutes to read.  Try to swim close to lifeguard stands.

A rip current is a narrow, fast-moving channel of water that starts near the beach and extends offshore through the line of breaking waves. If you do get caught in a rip current, the best thing you can do is stay calm. It's not going to pull you underwater, it's just going to pull you away from shore.

Hurricane mandatory evacuations.   Be prepared if the weather turns. Know where the evacuation routes are located.  Be mindful that when winds reach sustained 40 mph some High Profile Bridges will close, so your evacuation route may be rerouted to get you  to where you need to go safely.  Follow the evacuation route signs to guide you in the right direction.

I would love to be a weatherman, they can be wrong over 50% of the time and never loose their job.   Just because a weatherman calls for rain, tropical storm, or Hurricane, doesn't mean it will or will not rain. And who knows if it will rain for one day or everyday of the week.  One of my favorite weatherman to follow is James Spann    He is a weatherman out of Alabama, and he tells you like it is.

Our family has been spending our vacations in Panama City Beach since 2002.  We understand that life is hectic and people really need to make the most out of what limited vacation time they have.  Sometimes it takes a life changing event to open your eyes to what is most important in life: the time you spend with the people you love.  Nobody ever looks back on life and says 'Gee I wish, I had worked a little more.' Looking into the future, we hope to eventually spend our winters as snowbirds on the beautiful Emerald Gulf Coast.  Spending some time on the beach has a way of washing away all of the worries and stress.   Whether staying for a week or staying for a month, the memories you make will last forever.

Why we chose The Dunes of Panama, Panama City Beach

In the fall of 2014, we choose the Dunes of Panama for the pet friendly accommodations and 1500 feet of beach frontage.  The resort has all of the amenities we were looking for with a family oriented atmosphere.

This condo isn't just another rental, this is our future winter home, with our personal touches.  The resort has all of the amenities and plenty of space so you don't feel crowded.  The people are so friendly, it just makes you want to come back year after year.
