Berichten, Verhalen en Collecties: welke te gebruiken

Houfy gives you three ways to publish, and they are meant for different jobs.

A quick note in the Houfeed. Good for a short update, a question, a link you want to share. There is no title and no formatting to speak of - you type it and it goes out.

A Story

The long-form format. A Story has a title, a description, headings, lists, images, links and embeds, so it reads like a proper article. Use it for anything you expect people to come back to or share: a local guide, a how-to, an announcement worth keeping.

A Story also stays editable after it is published, so it can be kept current rather than replaced.

A Collection

A Collection is a folder for Stories. It does not hold writing of its own - it groups related Stories together so a reader can work through them in one place. Collections used to be called Guides or Guidebooks; the name changed, the idea did not.

Two examples of how that plays out:

• Summer Activities - one Story on the golf courses near your place, another on the best hiking nearby, both collected under the one Collection.

• Restaurants - separate Stories for breakfast, lunch and dinner, or for Italian and a top ten, gathered into a single Collection a guest can browse.

The practical rule: write one Story per subject rather than one enormous Story covering everything, then use a Collection to hold them together. Each Story can then be found on its own in search, and the Collection gives your guests the whole picture.

Where each one goes

Posts appear in the Houfeed. Stories and Collections live on your profile, and a Collection can be attached to a listing so guests see it alongside the property.
