🏔️ EXPERIENCE:
Originally built in the 1960s, Treehaus Chalet sits high above the valley with unobstructed views of Bear Mountain and the surrounding treetops. The cabin blends vintage alpine character with modern comforts, creating a warm and inviting retreat for couples, families, and friends.
The open-concept upper level is the heart of the home, featuring vaulted beam ceilings, large picture windows, a fully equipped kitchen, dining area, comfortable sectional sofa, wood-burning stone fireplace, and a full bathroom. Whether you're enjoying a snowy morning by the fire or watching the sunset over the mountains, the views are always center stage.
Downstairs you'll find two cozy bedrooms, each furnished with a queen bed, along with a shared jack-and-jill bathroom. One bedroom includes a dedicated workspace for guests working remotely.
Throughout the cabin, large windows bring the outdoors in, offering mountain views from nearly every room.
🔥 AMENITIES:
Treehaus Chalet is equipped with everything you need for a comfortable mountain getaway.
The fully stocked kitchen includes cookware, utensils, dishes, glassware, spices, coffee essentials, dishwasher, microwave, blender, crockpot, and propane grill for outdoor cooking on the view deck.
After a day of hiking, skiing, or exploring Big Bear, relax by the wood-burning stone fireplace, stream your favorite shows on the Roku Smart TV, or unwind in the private hot tub beneath the stars.
For indoor entertainment, enjoy the foosball table, puzzles, dominoes, and a collection of classic board games.
Additional conveniences include high-speed Wi-Fi, dedicated workspace, washer and dryer, central heat, portable fans, and mountain views from nearly every room.
🐾 DOG-FRIENDLY:
We welcome up to two well-behaved, house-trained dogs with a one-time pet fee.
The front deck is a favorite spot for dogs to relax and watch the neighborhood wildlife, but please note that the property is not fenced and local wildlife is occasionally present, including coyotes.
Pets should not be left unattended inside or outside the cabin. Guests are responsible for cleaning up pet waste and any pet-related damage.
We believe pets are family and hope your four-legged companion enjoys the mountain adventure with you.
🚗 PARKING:
Please review this section carefully before booking.
Treehaus Chalet is accessed by a steep uphill driveway that is typical of hillside mountain properties but may not be suitable for all vehicles or drivers.
The driveway is narrow and can accommodate a maximum of two vehicles parked in tandem. Oversized trucks, trailers, and large recreational vehicles may find maneuvering difficult.
AWD or 4WD is strongly recommended during winter weather. Guests should be comfortable driving on mountain roads and parking on inclines.
If you have questions about your specific vehicle, please ask before booking.
Guest access
Guests will have full access to the entire home and its contents.

Getting around
The Treehaus Chalet is conveniently-located and easy to find yet still feels away from it all. Just a short drive or walk to Bear Mountain shuttle (approx 1/2 mile away), 1 mile drive to the Bear Mtn main parking lot, 3 minute drive to grocery stores, and within a few miles of Snow Summit and The Village. It's easiest to get around by car, but Big Bear does offer a free bus and trolley service, with nearest stops along Moonridge Rd. Taxi and Uber services are very limited.
Exact location provided after booking.
