The entire region has gorgeous views and is very hilly and can be challenging to navigate. There are paved and unpaved roads in the Wolf Laurel Resort up to the cabin. While the resort takes care to plow the roads in the resort in the winter 4 x 4 or 4 wheel drive vehicles are required. The driveway has a steep grade, with room to turn around and park three cars at the bottom, 4-wheel drive or AWD is needed. There is room to park at top of the drive if you don't have 4 wheel drive or AWD, with short walk down to front door. The views are worth it!
The cabin is just off of I26 and is close enough (thirty minutes) to take in all that Asheville has to offer, including the exquisite Biltmore estate and grounds.
We recommend downloading an "offline map" in your Maps program. It will let you navigate our cabin and around the area (automatically) even if you don't have cell coverage.
To do this, it's easy:
1. Open the Maps app and log in.
2. Search for Wolf Laurel Resort. Zoom in/out so that the map you see contains everything from Wolf Laurel to Asheville, NC.
3. On iPhone: Tap the name, tap More..., select "Download Offline Map > Download."
On Android: Tap the name, select Download, click Download
