The Retreat at Martha Brae, is a secluded Home perched on the top of a ridge, overlooking the serene Martha Brae River as well as the Hills and valley's of the World famous Cockpit Country.
The space
This Retreat home is situated on 1.25 acres and has a large flat lawn in the front and a sloping hill to the back that reveals one of the major bends in the Martha Brae River. The house has generous spaces throughout, with a separate living room, entertainment room and outside patio as well as a formal dining room.
Guest access
Guests have full access to all the spaces on the property. This house actually has 6 bedrooms and can host up to 12 persons, so persons who book the 4 bedroom option will not have access to those other 2 rooms while staying.
For clarification purposes, if you book the 4 bedroom option, the other 2 bedroom cannot be rented. Those 2 rooms are just made unavailable during your stay
Other things to note
The rates charged for this house includes a housekeeper and security person at night. During the day, there is a gardener who take cares of the maintenance of the grounds on a daily basis. The housekeepers function is to keep the rooms and general areas clean for your comfort.
The housekeepers name is Rose. Rose also cooks. She has cooked for nearly all our guests to date. She charges a cooking fee of US$100 per day, broken down as US$30 for breakfast and lunch each and US$40 for dinner. You only pay for the meals prepared. The cooking services can be paid at the end of the stay.
You are responsible for purchasing the groceries which she can help with. There is a nearby local market and Supermarket where all the supplies can be purchased. We do offer to purchase all the supplies on your behalf, once you agree to a full re-imbursement of the costs of buying the supplies, with the presentation of the bills. This re-imbursement is due on check-in.
