The Old Buttery, hosted by Salt & City Stays, is a cosy three-bedroom Welsh cottage full of character, set in the peaceful countryside village of Mathry, Pembrokeshire. Ideal for couples, families, or friends, it offers a relaxing rural base with easy access to scenic walks, coastal paths, and nearby beaches. Mathry is a charming hilltop village with winding streets, far-reaching views across the St David’s Peninsula, and a welcoming traditional pub serving food.
The Old Buttery, hosted by Salt & City Stays, combines traditional Welsh charm with modern comfort. The cottage features slate and hardwood floors, exposed beams, and a well-equipped kitchen with a ceramic hob, range cooker, fridge/freezer, integrated microwave, and Nespresso coffee machine.
The adjacent dining area leads down a few steps into a cosy split-level living room, complete with a log burner and a welcome supply of logs to start your stay. Just off the living space is a useful utility area with a downstairs WC, washing machine, tumble dryer, and storage for coats, boots, or beach gear.
Upstairs, all three bedrooms are located on the first floor. The master king-size bedroom includes an ensuite WC and access to the street below via charming stone steps. A twin bedroom and a single bedroom are tastefully decorated, alongside a family bathroom with a bath and overhead shower — perfect after a day exploring Pembrokeshire.
We want you to feel at home during your stay. Please note that the cottage features steps throughout, hard floors, and an open oak staircase, which may not be suitable for toddlers or children under 6 years old.
One well-behaved dog is welcome to join you for your stay (£35 per stay). To help keep the cottage in great condition, we kindly ask that dogs remain off the furniture
