For the 2025-26 holiday season, we have a beautiful 12 foot Holiday Tree in the great room, adorned in blue, white, and silver! It will stay in place as long as it is attractive and possibly into February.

💰 UNDERSTANDING TAXES, FEES, AND MOUNTAIN COSTS
We believe guests deserve full transparency about what they’re paying for. When you book The Chalet by Tahoe Truckee Vacation Rentals here, please note that nearly one-third of your total payment does not go to the host.
The booking platform collects two separate charges that we do not control or receive:
* The guest service fee (typically around 15–16%) goes directly to the booking platform to cover their costs, including secure payments and customer support.
* Local transient occupancy tax (13.25%) goes to local authorities.
These mandatory fees and taxes are included in the total you see at checkout. The remainder — usually about two-thirds of the total — supports what truly defines your stay: meticulous maintenance, high-end amenities, and attentive on-site care that are rare in the Truckee-Tahoe region.
Please also note that operating costs in our high-altitude mountain area — for everything and everything, including repairs, upgrades, snow removal, taxes, HOA fees, and labor — are significantly higher than in most vacation markets. Our rates reflect both those realities and our commitment to keeping The Chalet by Tahoe Truckee Vacation Rentals pristine, reliable, and truly special for every guest.
