South Lake Tahoe vacation rentals

The house was amazing. I came to Tahoe with the intention of proposing to my girlfriend. After Frances gave me some great ideas on places to pop the question. I ended up settling with using the house and the backyard. The house has an amazing view overlooking the forest. Something my GF loves. It's located in a quiet culdesac with super nice neighbors. There is plenty of space for anyone looking to be separated. The theater room is awesome. Has a cool little bar and bathroom not the same floor with direct access to the backyard. If you want to splurge in the hot tub or BBQ or simply hang around the campfire pit. You have plenty of options to do so. If not, feel free to go up to the next floor and play some pool. Once upstairs you have plenty of room in the living/kitchen area. Great area to hang out and cook and watch some TV. There is also a good size deck with grill access. Plenty of Bedrooms and the Master Suite is HUGE! Great to relax and unwind from your day in Tahoe. There is a small trail directly located steps away from the house. This was great for the dogs to go for a walk. Overall, Amazing experience. I'd like to thank the Caro's for opening up their home and allowing me to propose in the backyard. This place will forever have a special place for our family and friends. Without a doubt, we will definitely be back!

Our family of five had a fantastic stay. The home is situated in a peaceful, quiet neighborhood and is both beautiful and inviting. Large windows allow refreshing natural light to fill the space in the mornings, creating an uplifting and open atmosphere, while easy-to-use blinds provide coziness at night. The bedrooms are comfortable, have a true cabin-like feel, and offer ample closet and dresser space. The bathrooms feature elegant tiles with detailed accents and edge trims. The open-concept kitchen, living, dining, and family areas encourage interaction, making it easy for everyone to stay connected, even while engaged in different activities. The patio and grill, conveniently accessible from the kitchen and dining room, add to the home’s charm. A door behind the garage opens to a snow-covered area, perfect for snow play. Additionally, the internet and smart TVs worked seamlessly. We had a wonderful time—thank you, Heidi, for hosting us and trusting us with your beautiful home!

We had great stay at Peter's place in Tahoe! It's a great location in South Lake Tahoe CA and walkable to many restaurants and a grocery. The lake shore, Stateline NV, and the marina are all within 10 minutes drive as well. The house is even more spacious than it appears in photos and was very comfortable for a family of 6. Make sure to check out all the bike and hiking travels, along with Emerald Bay and Chimney Beach. We stayed in late July 2026. It was quite hot during the day reaching 90+ degrees so opening the windows all night (lows in the 50s) was a must to keep the temperature comfortable inside. If traveling in the summer, do be aware that there's no AC and even with the windows open during the night and shades closed throughout the day, the inside temps can reach 81 degrees at 6pm. Peter mentioned they are due for a furnace upgrade and are considering a full AC unit for next year. Thanks again for letting us enjoy this excellent place, Peter!
