The area is known for its proximity to outdoor recreational opportunities, such as Lake Tahoe, hiking trails, and ski resorts. Tahoe City itself offers a variety of amenities, including shops, restaurants, and outdoor activities. The neighborhood is somewhat remote, so having a car is essential for running errands or accessing entertainment options. The area is bikeable to an extent, though the terrain can be challenging due to the elevation and natural surroundings.
We recommend bringing your own car for the greatest flexibility. Please don’t forget chains / snow tires in the winter months. There’s also TART (Tahoe Area Regional Transit) at the bottom of the hill. TART runs frequently and can get you to most of the ski resorts and beaches.
» Guests must be at least 25 years old to book.
» The reserving guest must be present with the group (no third party reservations).
» No pets allowed without advance approval.
» Family celebrations, reunions and gatherings are welcome but please keep it intimate. No loud parties and please no more than 10 guests.
» OPT-IN for travel insurance.
» Smoking is not permitted.
» We are a Palisades Lodging Partner and guests can enjoy up to -35% discounts for lift tickets, equipment rentals and more.
» Commercial photography is allowed w/ host’s approval.
» Concierge services available such as pre-arrival grocery delivery, in-home massages, and more.
» A minimum $250 extra cleaning fee will be collected for above ordinary cleaning.
» Additional deductions will be held for damages (stained carpets, home disarray or broken items).
» We have outdoor security cameras in the front yard and driveway. We highly value guest privacy and only check footage when necessary (e.g., if there are complaints from neighbors or if we suspect that guests are throwing parties).
» Please put garbage into the locking bin, bear box, at the end of the driveway.
» Do not put trash in the garage due to bears. Garbage pick-up is on Thursday mornings. Do not leave food in your cars.
» Please remove shoes in carpeted areas (bedrooms and downstairs hallway). The majority of the home is wood flooring.
» Tahoe experiences storms, road closures, fires, and power outages, along with all of the fun that comes with the high sierras. We highly recommend that you opt-in for trip insurance in the event an issue arises. Trip insurance is offered on the final reservation window when reserving.
» Please observe quiet hours from 8 PM to 8 AM.
» Street parking is not allowed during winter months from November 1st to May 1st in Tahoe City due to snow clearing.
» IMPORTANT DURING WINTER STORMS: Snow plow service clears the driveway once every 24 hours when there is snowfall of 4 inches or more. They are unable to clear the driveway if cars are parked in the driveway and you will be responsible for any potential snow clearing to move cars if this occurs (shovels are supplied in the garage). Two standard-size cars typically fit inside the garage. Our plow service clears the driveway between 4am to 9am in the morning typically.
» The jetted bath tub in the master bedroom is 60-gallons. Please have everyone take showers prior to enjoying the jetted bath as it will consume all available hot water and take about two hours to reheat water in the water tank (and a bit longer during winter).
» The Farmhouse is stocked with a 2-day home supply starter kit including:
2 rolls of toilet paper in each bathroom
1 roll of paper towel
1 new dish sponge
Dishwashing soap
Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and hand soap
Please add these items to your shopping list if you will be staying longer and need additional supplies.
» Carry chains / snow tires at all times during winter.
» Tahoe is bear country and they are smart. Be sure to lock your car doors and do not leave food in your car. The bears can open car door handles. Do not leave food in downstairs rooms and lock windows at night.
» Please note that we take pride in cleanliness including our hot tub. Please rinse thoroughly before entering the hot tub to remove all lotions and hair products (this will cause foaming). Water must be drained and refilled when necessary, in between guests, which may result in the first evening's water temperature not being to full heat. This is the nature of ensuring a clean hot tub for our guests.
» Please note that we no longer store bulk firewood on the premises due to fire hazard. 7/11, CVS and Safeway just down the hill typically have firewood.
» The Farmhouse does not have air conditioning, but portable fans are provided along with ceiling fans in most rooms.
» We also have a partnership with Ski Butlers for a 10% discount for Farmhouse guests. This excellent service will deliver and pick up your ski and snowboard rentals to/from our home, offering an excellent selection of gear.

Meet the Host
Perry
Owner
Hi Travelers,
I grew up coming to Tahoe on family vacations every other weekend like clockwork from 4 years old through high school. It is one of the most special places in the world. The color of the lake, sky and trees silhouetted by the mountain crests is beyond words. The thousands of memories from those trips will never be lost. The Tahoe Farmhouse is a place for our family to continue this tradition along with the opportunity to have others experience the beauty of all that is Tahoe and build family memories of their own. We hope that you can join us!
