100 yards to Sunny Cove beach! (Permit #211346) Family friendly, comfortable 1500 sq.ft home: 2 full baths, 2 bedrooms + "3rd" bedroom/living room w/ pocket doors close for 3rd bedroom, outdoor shower, WIFI, cable, gas/charcoal bbqs, game room, beach toys!
*6 adults+4 kids MAX, sleeps up to 10
*2 night minimum, 3 night minimum holiday weekends. One week July to mid August.
Sunny Cove beach is 100 yards from front door! "Ansel's Getaway” at Sunny Cove is a great family home in Santa Maria Cliffs, a relaxing neighborhood between Capitola and the Santa Cruz Boardwalk. Home is located on same block as Sunny Cove beach! On 16th Ave, near East Cliff Drive. Twin Lakes beach just a few streets over.
WALK to several beaches, Starbucks, restaurants, microbrewery, Sunday Farmers’ Market, Lago di Como resturant and deli, Los Pariscos Market with lots of local treats!
Comfortable layout with front yard, back yard, "game room" / garage with vintage shuffleboard table, foosball, pool table.
Family / TV room, atrium, fully equipped kitchen, many amenities and kid friendly.
King size beds in bedrooms, queen futons in living room and family/tv room.
Internet access, TV, DVD player.
Beach toys, games and lots of kids toys. Baby high chair, pak n play.
Picnic tables in front and back yards.
Minimum 2 nights off season. Weekends require a Friday and Saturday night stay
Minimum of 3+ nights holidays. One week summer.
This is NOT a party house. Neighborhood has many full time residents that call the sheriff if loud parties taking place. This is a private vacation rental home. Only you and your guests accounted for on the signed rental agreement will be present.

Centrally located. Boardwalk is 8 min drive, Pleasure Point & 41st Ave 5 min, Capitola & downtown Santa Cruz are less than 15 min away. Many of our guests also plan day trips to Carmel and Monterey Bay. Easy access to Highway 1.
Sunny Cove has multiple entrances: Cliff steps on both sides of the cove. Or you can walk thru the back on Johan's Drive.
No smoking, parties or animals (owner has severe asthma and allergies)

Driveway that will fit two medium sized cars or up to two SUVs is possible but a tight squeeze. On street parking may require the purchase of a permit depending on day of the week and time of year. County is evaluating changes for 2024.

Wish we lived here full time but work has us anchored to the other side of the hill for now. When time allows, we are lucky enough to call this a home away from home. We enjoy surfing, boogie boarding, sailing, fishing, and just relaxing at the beach with our families.
FUN History: The house was nicknamed "Ansel's Getaway" as ANSEL ADAMS was friends with the original owner of the home, John Bei. Ansel and John would hang out in the basement smoking cigars and discussing leather tanning projects. At the time, Ansel and John worked together at a local leather tannery shop creating camera cases of course! According the the Bei grandchildren, Ansel was quite a character and a frequent visitor of the home.
We have had a few artists visit Ansel's Getaway that have been artistically inspired during their stay. Their work is displayed at the beach house.
