STEEP STAIRS! WARNING! The stairs here are steep! Absolutely not for anyone with mobility issues. The stairs that access the top floor bedroom are steep and should be taken with the utmost caution.
Now that that is out of the way, let's get into the layout of our lovely little A-frame cottage.
The red metal roof will immediately get your attention as you approach on our lake community's private drive, where you will find 2 parking spaces for your vehicles.
Upon entry, you will be greeted on the left by the fully refurbished kitchen, where almost everything is new! New custom blue cabinetry with granite countertops and fully stocked kitchen. We stay here from time to time and wanted to make sure we had all the comforts of home and for our guests to as well. Just bring your groceries!
Some of the amenities include:
-Full size stainless steel refrigerator and stove
-Dishwasher
-Granite Countertops
-Custom backsplash
-Stainless steel undermount sink
-Keurig and 12 cup coffee maker with coffee provided
-Microwave, blender, toaster
-Wine glasses and wine opener
-(Almost) Anything you need to make any meal
On the right you will find the small dining room, with drop leaf table that adjusts to your group's size, along with a hidden kid's bed! My son found the little storage area under the shelf to be a fun place to play, and asked if he could put a mattress in there. After doing some painting and adding some lights and a fan, he loves spending nights in there, but we recommend keeping the doors open for ventilation.
As you move past the kitchen, you will come to the living room area. Fluted panels on the wall as well as other wood accents give it a warm, cabin vibe. A sectional couch and low-slung bean bag chair provide ample space for 4 guests. The shelves here contain books for many ages and board games for you to enjoy with your loved ones.
Opposite the living area is the bathroom, with tile shower, vessel sink, and stacked washer/dryer that is available for guest use throughout your stay. Towels and all linens are provided.
As you continue through the Lucky A, patio doors beckon you to enjoy a little dip in the hot tub or to just sit and enjoy the view from the deck. Outdoor amenities include:
-4 person hot tub
-Fully fenced backyard
-Outdoor games like washers and Connect 4
-15 ft x 15 ft deck with composite decking
-Fire pit
-Porch swing
Continuing on our journey to the upper floor (with aforementioned steep stairway) you will find the large bedroom. As you reach the upper floor, reclaimed wood flooring sets off the large King bed with soft cozy linens and romantic twinkle lights. Pause for a moment to look out the window at the lake--this view will great you as the sun streams in over the water in the morning tomorrow. At the far end of the room is a chaise floor lounge set with colorful Bohemian rug next to a closet with enough room for all your clothing. Inside the closet is a second twin mattress available for guest use.
Some disclosures about our property that we need to get out of the way:
1. The stairs to the bedroom are STEEP. This is the 3rd time we've mentioned it, so if that's an issue, don't book! Expect a ladder and this will be a bit better than that. We won't be giving you any discounts or refunds because you didn't know it was this bad or whatever--you've been warned. Because of this, its also not appropriate for toddlers and advise anyone with small children to look elsewhere or not allow your children upstairs. This is imperative for you as the guest to use caution and good judgment.
2. We do have kayaks and paddleboards, but there is no guest access to the lake here. The nearest access would be at Williamstown Marina, 290 Boat Dock Rd Williamstown, KY 41097 (~7 miles by car). You are welcome to haul them down to the marina to put in.
3. WINTER WEATHER: The lane to the Lucky A is a gravel private drive and therefore doesn't get plowed by the county. If inclement weather is expected, please message us to see how to proceed.
Guest access will be with a Smart Lock--a wifi controlled lock that assigns every guest their own code. Your particular guest code will be sent at 3 pm on your day of check in, and you can check in any time after 5.
Please message me through the app. If its urgent or an emergency, you may call me at the number provided. I live about an hour away and also have a maintenance person in the area that can help with issues.
The Lucky A Getaway is on a private lane that has about 25-30 houses on it near the lake. The Lucky A is one lot off of the lake (the houses in front of us are on the lake. Our back yard overlooks their homes and the lake itself, with some tree-obstructed views in summer and very clear views in winter.
Getting around is only by car. Be careful of the multiple large speed bumps!

3. Please be aware of the check in and out times. We have found that nearly every guest wants an early check in and late check out time no matter what we have as our established times. Our check out of 12 and check in of 5 is a bit unorthodox, but helps our cleaner's schedule a lot--they can still go to church on Sunday or make a morning appointment before you check out.
