We offer you a spacious, comfortable and well-equipped, self catering holiday home with 2 kitchens, 4 bathrooms, 4 bedrooms, swimming pool, wood fired pizza oven, and Wi-Fi - between Pisa and Lucca, Tuscany.
This fabulous home can comfortably accommodate up to 12 people. It is located in an ancient terraced olive grove on the beautiful southern slopes of the Monte Pisano, a protected area of outstanding natural beauty which overlooks Pisa, the Leaning Tower and the Mediterranean Sea beyond.
This very special and well-equipped place offers two kitchens, two lounges, 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, ensuring comfort, space and privacy for larger groups of either friends or families.
La Lucertola is a perfect location near Pisa and Lucca and is only a 20 minute drive from either, 30 minutes from the Tirrenian coast, 50 minutes from the Cinque Terre and an hour from Florence – the perfect combination of a peaceful and relaxing countryside location yet also close to the major art and cultural cities of Tuscany as well as the beach and the spectacular coastline of the Mediterranean.
The farmhouse is arranged over two floors with balconies offering amazing and inspiring views as far as the eye can see.
Overlooking the valley, Pisa and the Mediterranean Sea, the pool offers welcome refreshment and fun with stunning views to infinity. It has an elegant and spacious split level teak decking area and stone capped sun terrace. Situated in its own secure and dedicated area, it is filled with fresh spring water direct from the source and salt treated, so chlorine free. There are sun loungers, pergola, chairs and tables.
The sun terrace is spacious and enjoys a unique and stunning panoramic view. The wooden shade pergolas are furnished with light, billowing curtains, which makes them ideal for dining, reading, musing, relaxing.
Surrounding the property there is a mature, terraced olive grove which is special for walks or sitting under a tree with a book.
The wood fired oven is fantastic for all kinds of cooking, including, but not only, pizzas! Really great fun for everybody, regardless of age or cooking ability and topped with a huge sense of satisfaction at the end! Wood is freely available and there are also barbeques for additional outdoor cooking.
We have a beautiful mature terraced olive grove of over 4 hectares, itself set in an area of outstanding natural beauty, which offers great walking in nature and is connected to some marvellous walking trails in the woods above the land.
Bird watching, hiking, old castles, great opportunities for photography or painting, and getting back close to nature.
Pisa, with her world famous & iconic Leaning Tower, is just 20 minutes away and clearly visible from the houses, sun terrace, swimming pool and olive grove.

Balconies which offer spectacular panoramic views over Pisa, the Leaning Tower and the Mediterranean.
The two houses are next door to each other, totally self-contained and can be rented individually or together for larger parties.
The two houses each have big rooms, cool furniture, verandas, sun terrace & great decor.
Both houses have mosquito nets on the windows and doors
The whole area enjoys stunning views of olive grove, forest, field, villages, valley and sea.
We have incredible sunsets here at La Lucertola.
The whole area is also covered by Wi Fi.
There is a fabulous and ample sun and shade terrace outside both farmhouses each furnished with shade pergola, table and 6 chairs and sun loungers. Ideal for relaxing, sunbathing and dining.
There is a splendid dedicated barbeque area and wood fired oven which is great fun for making pizzas and other tasty dishes! Wood is provided free of charge.
Each farmhouse is suitable for up to 6 people, thereby accommodating up to 12 when rented together.
There are lots of excellent local restaurants to explore ranging from good honest pizzerie to higher end dining for special occasions, all at very reasonable prices.
Children are most welcome.
Cots, high chairs, stair gates and extra foldaway beds can be provided at no extra charge.

Colin and I live in a separate house on the land, so, we are often around but never intrusive. We know the area very well so we can guide you on any number of things to help make your stay even more special. I am half Italian and tri-lingual Italian/English/French. I play the flute. I love nature. I love living here - it is so special. I am friendly, fun and helpful.

Car hire recommended, but we have had a number guests who decide to rely on public transport and make the conscious decision not to hire a car, but it really depends on how much you like walking! The farmhouses are located up a hill and are accessible via a private, non asphalted road. It is a beautiful walk of about 1km max, if not less and the road winds up through the olive grove and to the houses.
There is a taxi service in Lucca and Pisa and there is a taxi rank at Pisa Airport. Taxis in Italy are quite expensive and you may have to wait a while before they turn up. The trip, for example from Pisa Airport to La Lucertola, about a 30 minute drive could cost you about €40.
At the bottom of the hill there is the bus stop for the bus which shuttles between Pisa, Pisa Centrale train station, Pisa Airport and Lucca.There is also a small train station in the nearby village of Ripafratta, about 2 kms from La Lucertola which operates a local train service between Pisa and Lucca.
There is a taxi service in Lucca and Pisa and there is a taxi rank at Pisa Airport. Taxis in Italy are quite expensive and you may have to wait a while before they turn up. The trip, for example from Pisa Airport to La Lucertola, about a 30 minute drive could cost you about €40.
