Welcome to La Lucertola ! Two spacious & comfortable vacation holiday homes that can be rented separately or together. Superb views over The Leaning Tower & City of Pisa, just 7kms away. The houses at La Lucertola offer big rooms, cool furniture, verandas, great decor & a beautiful sun terrace. At La Lucertola, there is a fabulous salt water pool, relax area & poolside shower set into an olive tree!! Top pizza oven! Wi fi. Near to good beaches & the historic cities of Pisa, Lucca & Florence.
La Lucertola is perfectly located to make the most of the glories of Tuscany. This is an ideal location for both city and country breaks. We generate our own electricity and hot water with over 60 square meters of solar panels - this is an eco friendly carbon neutral location.

There is a wonderful salt water swimming pool set in its own fenced-off and secure area, with the most spectacular views of the valley, Pisa and the Leaning Tower and the Mediterranean Sea beyond! Beauty as far as the eye can see!

La Lucertola offers two farmhouses.
Balconies which offer spectacular panoramic views over Pisa, the Leaning Tower and the Mediterranean.
The two houses are next door to each other, totally self-contained and can be rented individually or together for larger parties.
We have created a beautiful swimming pool, with two wonderful relax areas.
The early arrival and late departure of the warm and sunny days means that the pool is open from early May until late October. In keeping with the beautiful nature that surrounds us, the pool is filled with lightly salted spring water, so there is no need for chlorine. The water is like silk on the skin.
The relax area is on two levels; in front of the pool, the area is paved with stone, furnished with sun loungers, shaded with the branches of an ancient olive tree and screened by flowering wisteria and Mediterranean plants.
At pool level there is a hard wood decking area with sun loungers, shaded wooden pergola and a unique poolside spring water shower which comes directly out of an ancient olive tree.
The whole area enjoys stunning views of olive grove, forest, field, villages, valley and sea.
It is perfect for sunbathing, evening drinks and after-dark swimming as the pool is illuminated.
There is a fabulous and ample sun and shade terrace outside both farmhouses each furnished with shade pergola, table and 6 chairs and sun loungers. Ideal for relaxing, sunbathing and dining.
There is a barbeque area and wood fired oven which is great fun! Wood is provided free of charge.
Each farmhouse can accommodate up to 6 people.
Children are most welcome.
Cots, high chairs, stair gates and extra foldaway beds can be provided at no extra charge.
Towels and linen provided.
Free Wi Fi Internet
For the musically inclined there is even a fully soundproofed pro- recording studio which can be rented separately. Please ask for more details.

Shared PoolThe pool is shared with the other farmhouse and is beautiful! It is a salt water pool and is set in its own secure area with plenty of space for relaxing and has spectacular views over Pisa, the Leaning Tower and as far as the eye can see. There are two separate relax areas in the pool area, one below the pool and one above the pool, each with 4 sun loungers and table and chairs and so there is plenty of space around the pool for both houses to enjoy.

Child friendly
Children love La Lucertola - with the pool and the pizza oven probably topping their list of fun! The pool is great but it is also in its own secure and dedicated area and is 1,3 metres deep and therefore perfect for children and for your peace of mind.
For smaller children, we can provide travel cots - the mattress for this measures 117cm long X 60cm wide. It is closed on all sides or a low foldaway bed - this measures 1m 88cm long X 76cm wide X 34cm off the ground, including the mattress. It can be pushed up against one wall and then there are plenty of the cushions in the house which can be laid around the bed

Colin and I live in a separate house on the land, so, we are often around but never intrusive. We know the area very well so we can guide you on any number of things to help make your stay even more special. I am half Italian and tri-lingual Italian/English/French. I play the flute. I love nature. I love living here - it is so special. I am friendly, fun and helpful.

Getting around
Car hire recommended, but we have had a number guests who decide to rely on public transport and make the conscious decision not to hire a car, but it really depends on how much you like walking! The farmhouses are located up a hill and are accessible via a private, non asphalted road. It is a beautiful walk of about 1km max, if not less and the road winds up through the olive grove and to the houses.
There is a taxi service in Lucca and Pisa and there is a taxi rank at Pisa Airport. Taxis in Italy are quite expensive and you may have to wait a while before they turn up. The trip, for example from Pisa Airport to La Lucertola, about a 30 minute drive could cost you about €40.
At the bottom of the hill there is the bus stop for the bus which shuttles between Pisa, Pisa Centrale train station, Pisa Airport and Lucca.There is also a small train station in the nearby village of Ripafratta, about 2 kms from La Lucertola which operates a local train service between Pisa and Lucca.
