La Bigorre Holiday Cottages - Well Cottage - Saint-Germain-du-Seudre

A small complex of four holiday cottages with a heated pool in a rural hamlet, just 30 minutes from the beautiful beaches of Royan, St Georges de Didonne and La Palmyre.

We specialise in catering for families and have a superb range of equipment, toys and games for children of all ages. We aim to make holidays easier for parents so they can relax and be at home at La Bigorre.

Surrounded by vines, sunflowers and corn, there's little traffic here, making it a lovely peaceful and safe place to be.

Well Cottage can sleep up to eight people, plus a cot, in three bedrooms. Downstairs comprises a spacious living area which looks out onto the main gardens. Wide French doors open into the large kitchen / dining room with wood burning stove. The main bathroom is located downstairs, comprising bath with over-shower, toilet, basin and separate walk-in shower. There is also a separate toilet next door.

Through the kitchen and overlooking the private terrace area is the second double bedroom, making it ideal for grandparents or those less able to manage stairs.

Upstairs are the master and children’s bedrooms, as well as an en suite toilet and washbasin.

An interconnecting door from the hallway can be unlocked to join with the Farmhouse for larger groups, if desired.

Children are well catered for with our fully enclosed and alarmed heated pool, garden swings, table tennis, pool table, table football, boules and DVD library. There are also plenty of books for both children and adults.

Alternatively, you may prefer to walk or cycle along the lanes amongst the vineyards and sunflower fields. We have plenty of bicycles (adult and child size) that you are welcome to borrow.

We live on site and are available throughout your stay to recommend places to visit, restaurants or just for a chat! We can also offer babysitting if available.

Gémozac, the nearest town, is a 10 minute drive or a pleasant 25 minute cycle ride away. It has all the expected services, including two well-stocked supermarkets, bakeries, pharmacy, banks, Post Office and a number of smaller shops as well as a very nice bar and restaurant. Also close by, the historic town of Saintes and the fashionable resort of Royan offer more shopping and entertainment options, as well as the beautiful beaches along the coastline.
