Despite its size, the cabin boasts all the amenities you need for a comfortable stay. Relax by the indoor fireplace or catch up on your favorite shows on the 24-inch smart TV, with access to your own Netflix or Prime accounts. Whip up your favorite meals in the fully equipped kitchen, featuring a full-size stove, refrigerator, Keurig coffee machine, and all the cooking essentials you need.

Take advantage of the community lake, where you can fish, swim, or just soak up the sun. Explore the surrounding hiking trails and enjoy the stunning natural beauty of Ashford.

There is no public transportation in Ashford.

Come experience the charm of Paradise Estates, a neighborhood of eclectic homes and camping sites. Please note that there is no public transportation in Ashford, so we recommend purchasing supplies prior to your arrival, as the nearest grocery store has only the basics. But don't worry, beer and wine are available! And should you need it, firewood can be purchased at the general store or the firewood vending machine. If there is firewood in the woodshed near the firepit, please feel free to use it.



FOREST ROAD 52 / SKATE CREEK ROAD WHICH TRAVELS EAST TO WEST, BETWEEN PACKWOOD AND ELBE IS OFTEN CLOSED ESPECIALLY DURING THE WINTER MONTHS. Please check the road conditions before traveling.

Please note that there is no dining table or dishwasher in the cabin, but alfresco dining is available on the patio, complete with a BBQ grill and fire pit for cozy evenings under the stars.

Space is limited, there are no closets, but we do provide two luggage racks.

*** Power/internet can go out often due to the weather conditions in the mountains; however, the Knotty Shack has a built-in generator installed, so no more power outages! You can even enjoy the hot tub during a power outage****

As of October 2025, The Knotty Shack now has fiber optic Internet.

Knotty Shack Cabin is a pet free cabin. No pets are allowed.
