🥾 The Trail

Right outside your door, a true wilderness trail winds along a creek for most of its length, passing a WWII-era timber tram before disappearing deeper into the National Forest border. It's unpaved and rugged — no manicured paths here, just packed earth, fallen leaves, and the occasional root to step over. Birdsong and the crunch of leaves underfoot are the only soundtrack. This is the real thing: quiet, untouched, and completely yours to explore during your stay.

One locked cabinet under the bar is for owners’ supplies. The rest of the property is yours to enjoy.

We are happy to show you around our property and point out our favorite Jeep and other riding/hiking trails in Kisatchie. Our cabin concierge can also connect you with the local riding, hiking and kayaking groups.

The cabin directly borders Kisatchie National Forest in the Claiborne area. Camp Claiborne is mere minutes away and there are trails of all types both on the property and within minutes for the avid hiker, equestrian and enduro or Jeep enthusiasts.

There are private trails on our property and walking trails in Kisatchie bordering the cabin, including the pre-WWII timber tram and a winding creek. You will be in the woods but within 10-15 minutes of stores. If you are coming to get away from it all, this is the place.
