Experience the magic of all four seasons at Happy Cabin, our family-friendly lakefront retreat nestled among the majestic white pines near Manistee National Forest! Located on crystal-clear, all-sports Lake Meauwataka, just 10 miles north of Cadillac, this peaceful Up North getaway is perfect for making memories with family and friends.

Enjoy 65 feet of lake frontage with sandy-bottom water access, kayaks, paddleboards, a pedal boat, fishing, and lakeside campfires. In the colder months, explore nearby skiing, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, and other winter adventures!

Our spacious 2,000-square-foot cabin features 2 full bathrooms, a king bedroom with beautiful lake views, and an open-concept kitchen, dining, and great room designed for spending time together. Relax by the wood-burning stove, enjoy family game nights, or simply unwind surrounded by nature.

Happy Cabin is not a luxury retreat. It's our personal family vacation home, lovingly cared for and thoughtfully equipped with the comforts of home. We take pride in providing a cozy, welcoming place where families can unplug, reconnect, and make lasting memories!

Enjoy the peaceful countryside setting while remaining just 10–15 minutes from shopping and restaurants in Cadillac. A convenient general store is only 1.5 miles away.

Our location is also a great home base for exploring Northern Michigan, including Traverse City, Lake Michigan beaches, Interlochen, Frankfort, Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, the Big Manistee River, Caberfae Peaks, and Crystal Mountain.

PLEASE NOTE: Happy Cabin is accessed by a dirt road, adding to its rustic Up North setting. Across the lake is a township park with a campground, hiking trails, sand dunes, and a 9-hole disc golf course.

*$300 refundable security deposit authorization (credit card hold) required more than 24 hours before check-in. Charges apply only if damages occur.

SLEEPING:
Primary Master Bedroom: King bed with beautiful lake views and a single-bed loft.
Second Bedroom: Queen bed with nearby bathroom.
Lower-Level Bunkhouse: Full-over-full and twin-over-twin bunk beds with a separate living area.

Additional sleeping options include sleeper sofas in the great room and lower living area, a twin futon in the laundry room, a foldaway twin cot, and a Pack 'n Play.

WI-FI/TV:
High-speed internet for remote work. Smart TV with streaming options, however you will need to use your own subscriptions for certain applications enabled through guest mode on the Roku TV. The TV also gets approximately 16 channels via antenna and there is a DVD player with many movie options to choose from. Many board games & crafty accessories are provided.

WORKSPACE:
Desk with lake views in Master Bedroom.

KITCHEN:
Our kitchen is fully equipped with all the appliances and tableware for your stay. There is a common pantry and spice basket. You are welcome to use any staples in the cabinets or condiments in the refrigerator if they are available, but we can't guarantee anything will be there for certain. It all depends on what people use and what people leave.

GARAGE/BASEMENT:
Owner's private storage areas and not included in the rental.

SHED:
Open & available to use. Here you will find outdoor games, disc golf sets, campfire sticks, fishing poles etc..

HEATING/COOLING:
The house has A/C in the master bedroom (mini-split), Queen Bedroom (permanent closet rollout), Dining Room (Seasonal portable unit ).
Tree cover, lake breezes and fans keep the rest of the house cool in the summer.

The house has TWO furnaces, a wood burning stove and a propane stove.

BACKYARD AMENITIES:
Fire pit, Dining Area, Pedal Boat, Kayaks (x3 Adult, x3 Youth), SUPs (x2), Tetherball, Cornhole, fishing poles etc..

SEASONAL NOTES:
The dock is removed Oct-April. Please inquire if booking during a transition period. Life Jackets Provided.

SNOW REMOVAL:
Removal service is triggered after an event causing more than 4" of accumulation since last removal. There will be occasions where there may be a few inches of snow on the driveway and walkway. A snow shovel and rock salt is provided.

OCCUPANCY NOTES:
There is an additional charge of $10 per night/Guest >6 guests to account for extra cleaning/laundry/septic charges.
