Hale Kona Lanai is located on a quiet cul-de-sac in a peaceful residential neighborhood just minutes from the heart of Kailua-Kona. The neighborhood is home to local families, full-time residents, and a few vacation homes, creating a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Because there is no through traffic, you'll enjoy a quieter setting while still being close to beaches, shopping, dining, and many of Kona's favorite attractions.


A rental car is the best way to explore the Big Island and make the most of your stay, although mopeds and motorcycles are also popular options. Hale Kona Lanai is about 1½ miles from the nearest beach. The walk downhill is pleasant, but the return trip is uphill and can be challenging, especially in the warm Kona afternoon sun. Free parking is available in the designated driveway area, with additional street parking available if needed. If parking on the street, please allow room for mail delivery and keep neighboring driveways clear. Mahalo!

* Hale Kona Lanai loves bringing families together. It's a place to enjoy one another's company and discover the simple joys that busy lives often leave behind. In showing respect for our neighbors and our neighborhood, we ask that celebrations remain within the spirit of the home. Large parties and events can be enjoyed at one of the many beaches, venues, or hotels throughout Kona.

* In Hawaiʻi, it's common to share a meal, talk story, or stop by just for a hug with our ʻohana. ʻOhana means family, and family also includes our *aikāne*—those cherished friends we welcome as family. You're welcome to share Hale Kona Lanai with your ʻohana during your stay. If anyone will be staying overnight, we simply ask that they be included in your reservation.

* We love animals! We just aren't able to accommodate pets at Hale Kona Lanai. We want every member of your family to be safe and comfortable, and we're simply not able to provide the environment needed to keep your pets safe and comfortable.

* Hale Kona Lanai comfortably accommodates up to eight guests. For reservations of seven or eight guests, two futons will be prepared before your arrival. For smaller groups, the futons remain stored so you'll have even more living space to enjoy.

* The bedroom with two twin beds can be prepared with the beds separated or joined together as a queen-size bed before your arrival. Simply let us know your preference, and we'll be happy to have it ready.

* If you have total of 7 or 8 guest, please include them in your reservation and we will have futons places in the 3rd bedroom for those guests. 

* Above all, we ask that you enjoy yourself while you care for Hale Kona Lanai, our neighbors, and mālama (care for) this island and home with *aloha.* You will be helping us preserve the spirit and culture of Hawaiʻi for all to enjoy. We mahalo you for that!
