Welcome to Galini House. In Greek, 'Galini' means Serenity. We named it this because it sits calmly between the mountains and the sea.
IMPORTANT BEFORE YOU BOOK: A 4x4 OR HIGH-CLEARANCE SUV IS REQUIRED.
The road up to the house is steep and unpaved in parts. A regular car will not make it. This is a must, not a recommendation. Please book a suitable car together with your stay. We are happy to recommend local rental companies.
Galini means serenity in Greek. Our home sits high above Korthi Bay, between the mountains and the sea, with open sea views and full privacy. It is built for 2-3 families or a group of friends who want to cook together, swim, look at the stars and slow down.
The house mixes raw concrete, warm wood and personal touches. It is not a minimal hotel-style villa. It feels like a home.
THE SPACE
Ground floor
- Open living and dining area with high ceilings and a traditional corner seating nook
- Fully equipped kitchen, ready for big family meals
- Master bedroom with en-suite bathroom
- Kids' room with 4 single beds, a pull-out sofa and games
- Second bathroom
Upper floor
- Two double bedrooms (one can be set as twin beds)
- Open lounge with two built-in sofas that sleep 2 more, and a small kitchenette for quiet morning coffee
- Shared bathroom and a private sea-view veranda
OUTDOORS
- West patio: a small private plunge pool for cooling off on hot days, a built-in lounge and an outdoor kitchen with BBQ. Faces the valley and the sunset.
- East terrace: large dining table for 12, right off the kitchen, with sea views and the sound of the waves.
GOOD TO KNOW
- Car: once again, a 4x4 or high-clearance SUV is required to reach the house.
- Solar-powered home: the house runs on its own solar system. During the day everything works as usual, including A/C, dishwasher and laundry. At night we ask guests to use A/C gently. Most guests find this part of the charm.
- Beach: a 15-minute walk down a path. Korthi village, with tavernas, a bakery and a supermarket, is a 2-minute drive.
- Getting here: ferry from Rafina port (about 30 minutes from Athens airport) to Andros takes about 2 hours, then about 40 minutes' drive to the house.
- Kids are welcome. Pets on request.
- Wi-Fi, A/C in all rooms, fireplace for cooler months.
