Cozy 5-Bed Retreat, Heated Spa - Port Republic

The main floor opens into a great room with a wood-burning fireplace and a kitchen island that seats the whole group. The kitchen is fully equipped, down to a full spice rack and three ways to make coffee.

Five bedrooms sit on one floor, which is what makes this work for two families. Three and a half baths.

Downstairs is the entertainment level: media room with a large screen and sectional seating, pool table, arcade games, bar area (furniture only, not stocked), a workspace, and a fitness area with free weights, a bench and rowing equipment. Stairs lead down to this level.

Outside, the spa is heated and available year round and takes about 45 minutes to come up to temperature. The pool is open Memorial Day through Labor Day, heated to 82 degrees. Deck and patio, outdoor dining, gas grill, and a wood-burning fire pit in the woods with wood available.

The house sits on a quiet wooded lot in Port Republic, between the Chesapeake Bay and the Patuxent River.

Rural wooded property on a private lot. Wildlife and insects are part of the setting; the house is on a regular pest control schedule.

Water comes from a private well, so it tastes different from city water and can leave mineral marks in tubs and fixtures. Drinking water is safe.

The pool is seasonal and closed in winter. The spa is heated and available year round. Stairs lead to the lower entertainment level.

Exterior security cameras cover the driveway, entry doors, deck and pool equipment. There are no interior cameras.

The area is dark at night and you will need a car. Delivery options are limited.

Optional add-ons: pool heating above 82 degrees for a fee with advance notice.

Self check-in by lockbox. Check-in is 4:00 PM and checkout is 10:00 AM. Early check-in and late checkout are not offered, even for a fee.
