Capt. Kirk is a 46-year veteran of EMS and Public Safety and the Co-Founder of Mt Nebo Training in Provo Utah. Capt. Kirk is currently serving with Reach Air Medical as the Clinical Educator and CQI Coordinator for Contra Costa County Fire Protection District. Capt. Kirk retired from Provo City Police after 22 years of service. Capt. Kirk also served during that same time period as an EMS provider with Payson EMS & Fire. Although his career in Law Enforcement ended in 2002, Capt. Kirk continued with Public Safety working full time in the Fire/EMS service where he again retired after serving as a Paramedic/Fire Captain and EMS Coordinator for Eagle Mountain Fire Department. Capt. Kirk teaches all levels of EMS and wilderness medicine at State, National and Regional conferences and classrooms across the United States. In his spare time “Capt. Kirk” travels to 3rd World countries as a volunteer teaching EMS to physicians, nurses and EMS personnel. When things get too hectic Papa Kirk can be found waterskiing and enjoying the sun at Lake Powell or any other lake with his wife Margaret of 48+ years, their 4 children, spouses, 16 grand and 6 great grandchildren.
