A bit About the Property:
Fencing:
While the property is nearly 2 acres, only a dedicated area directly outside the door is fully fenced in. This gives you the convenience of letting your dog out safely without having to go outside with them. However, the entire property is not completely surrounded by fence-just the area right outside the door is securely enclosed for your pup’s safety and your peace of mind.
🌿 Nature & Safety Notice
We are bordered by a river running at the back of the property. There is a steep drop to get down to the river and not easily accessible for swimming or wading, more for quiet enjoyment of the scene.
Natural Surroundings: As with most wooded areas in North America, poison ivy, mosquitoes and bugs, wildlife, and other natural hazards may be present. Guests are responsible for their own awareness and safety, and assume all risks associated with outdoor exposure.
Cliffs & Water: The property includes natural features such as riverbanks and cliffs. Guests are solely responsible for exercising caution and supervising children at all times.
Water Use: The river is not monitored or maintained for recreation. If guests choose to enter the water, they do so entirely at their own risk
There are security cameras around the exterior of the home that record motion. There is also a ring camera at the exterior of the entrance on the screened porch that also records motion.
🏡Layout:
This charming classic New England home features a full bathroom on the first floor and bedrooms on the second floor. Guests will need to use the stairs to access the bathroom at night. If anyone in your group has mobility concerns or prefers an ensuite setup, please keep this in mind when booking.
🪜Stairs:
Like many historic New England homes, the staircase is steeper than modern stairs. It adds to the home’s character but may not be ideal for guests with mobility challenges, very young children, or anyone uncomfortable with steeper steps.
🔥Fire Pit:
A cozy fire pit is available for guest use—weather and regulations permitting. Please note that statewide burn bans may occasionally be in effect during dry periods, and the fire pit cannot be used when these bans are active. We recommend checking current fire restrictions if this amenity is important to your stay.
Our Campfire Rules for a Perfect Evening:
Please never leave your campfire unattended. When you're heading in for the night, the fire must be out first.
Water First, Fire Second: Before you even think of striking a match, please place a full bucket of water next to the pit. This is our number one safety must-do!
When the evening winds down, please douse the fire thoroughly with water. A sleepy ember can be a sneaky thing!
Clean Slate for the Next Crew: If you used any of the community firewood, please neatly stack any leftovers. For cleanup, once the ashes are completely cold, you can dispose of them in the bucket provided.
To keep our air clean and our fire burning safely, please only burn seasoned firewood. Painted wood or trash can create toxic fumes and are a no-go.
🔥 Please remember: Guests will be held responsible for any damage caused by failure to follow these fire safety rules
