Be aware of year-around altitude effects, especially for the young and old
Like many of our guests, you will probably drive or fly to Mammoth from an area where elevations are very low. But the Eastern Sierra's high elevations mean thinner atmosphere, less oxygen and lower humidity. Plus, our weather is unpredictable.
This combination of altitude change and high activity level can result in altitude sickness, sunburn or even serious injury.
This is especially true of the very young and very old. We've had guests in the past who brought elderly family members who struggled, even while resting, in the lower-oxygen environment. Even our regal (but aging) dog, Thor, seems to struggle a bit.
