We have connected Stripe and Square on Houfy for you to receive direct deposits & payments from your Guests. This will only work if your listing is verified by us. Of course!

The process to add this service is extremely simple:
Please Log in > Menu > Manage Listings > Payments & Payouts

Connect your properties to the accounts you would like to receive your funds in. (Below an example of 2 properties, 2 bank accounts)

I am having issues with Square. When I try and use one Square account for 2 properties but then have another property with a different Square account, it won't let me log back into a different Square to update that listing???? HELP, before it goes to the wrong account.
Good question Michelle, We haven't seen this situation before. To solve this quickly, you would need 2 Houfy accounts as you have 2 Square accounts. (We can transfer your Houfy listing to the new account) Let me check on this with Swapnil, if we can make a system to log out of Square and back in through another account. I understand your situation. Thanks Thijs.
Sorry if this is already clear to others, but when connecting to Square, how is Houfy viewed by Square in terms of their "software" and subsequent pricing for the credit card processing? Would this transaction be considered an "E-Commerce," "Keyed-in card payment," "Invoice" or something else? Different rates apply to the transaction type classification that Square offers. Appreciate any insight on this! Thank you.
It would be the invoice/E-commerce rate at 2.9% plus .30 cents per transaction. The 3.5% is manually entered payments. Ex: a traveler contacts you over the phone and verbally tells you his CC number and you log into your Square dashboard and enter it yourself. Don't quote me on any of this but it's the gist generally of how 3rd party processors work.
And the 2.75% cheaper rate would be for manual in person swipe transactions. Ex: if you have one of the attached Square readers on your phone, and you meet the guest in person and physically have their card in your hands. Less risk of fraud since you can verify in person, therefore a cheaper rate. The higher the risk of fraud, the higher the rate.
Wonderful, Bridget. Appreciate your explanation. We use Square already for in-person transactions and have a Stripe account. Looks like the fees are the same (2.9% + .30 per) for anything we would take online.
I have both too..ha! Stripe may save a bit of money if you get a lot of travelers who use European credit cards. The rates for those are 1.4% as long as no conversion fees, etc. If you have not read my comparison general overview of the differences I learned between the two, here it is " target="_blank">https://www.houfy.com/bridgetjohnson/posts/should-i-use-stripe-or-square-for-credit-cards-12496
How can i connect a system for payments other than stripe or Square?
Hi Betty,
You can take payment however wish. Stripe and Square are the only two that integrate with Houfy. If you copy/paste this link it explains how transactions work no matter the payment: https://www.houfy.com/carl-and-bridget/posts/how-does-a-traveler-reserve-and-make-payment-14511370
After I click ALLOW on the page where it wants to access my square account it shows a red alert at the bottom that says my "session has expired. Please sign in again." I've done that several times and still get the same alert.
