There are 2 ways the guest can sign, attach id proofs and send the rental agreement.

Rental agreement for the guests

In a reservation conversation you'll see two buttons next to Send: 

 — writes a complete reply to the guest's latest message from scratch. 

 — takes whatever you've already typed and polishes it (clearer, warmer, fixes the wording) without changing your meaning. 

Every draft is grounded in the real reservation: the guest's name, the dates, the number of guests, the booking status, your listing's details, and the conversation so far. It also writes in your voice, learning from the replies you actually send.

Leave the message box empty and click Suggest with AI.

The reply streams into the box live. When it's done, read it over.

Type a rough version of your reply (even a few words).

The assistant rewrites it more clearly while keeping your point.

Need this one reply to go a certain way — "offer a late checkout," "mention the parking," "keep it short"? Use the add context option next to the AI buttons. Whatever you type there guides this suggestion only; it isn't saved.

Make it sound like you (standing context)

The assistant gets better the more you use it, and you can also tell it your preferences once so they apply to every reply.

Go to Scheduled Messages → AI reply assistant and write your standing context, for example:

- "Always sign off as 'Team Sunset Villa'."

- "Keep replies to 2–3 sentences. No emojis."

- "Offer early check-in if the night before is free."

These notes are used on every suggestion. The assistant also learns from the edits you make before sending — over time its drafts move closer to how you actually write.

Insert booking details with "/" shortcodes

You don't have to type the guest's name or dates by hand. Type 

 in the message box (at the start or anywhere mid-sentence) to open the shortcode picker, then pick one — or keep typing to filter (e.g. 

Where you are changes what gets inserted:

- In a reservation conversation → the shortcode is replaced with the actual value for that booking. For example, 

- When creating a Scheduled Message → it inserts the token (e.g. 

) because a scheduled message is a template; the real value is filled in automatically for each guest when the message sends.

The shortcode is inserted right where your cursor is — the rest of your message stays exactly as you wrote it.

Will guests know a reply was AI‑assisted?

No. The guest only sees the message you send. The buttons are visible to you, not them.

Can I edit the suggestion before sending?

Yes — always. Treat it as a first draft. Your edits also help it learn your style.

Yes. It replies in the same language the guest is writing in.

They're for the host and co‑hosts only. If you're viewing as a guest, or you don't have access to that reservation, the buttons won't appear.

Do shortcodes work in scheduled messages too?

Reply to guests faster with the AI reply assistant

Scheduled messages save you time by going out automatically — but sometimes one guest needs something extra: a gate code, a late check-in note, or directions for their specific stay. Houfy now lets you personalize any upcoming scheduled message for a single reservation.

Reservation page — open the reservation and find the Scheduled Messages panel. Every message queued for this reservation is listed with its send time (for example, "Jul 20, 2026 · 4:00 PM" or "10 mins after booking confirmation").

Guest conversation — tap + next to the message box and open the Scheduled messages tab.

1. Click the ⋮ menu on the message and choose Edit.

2. Adjust the text however you like — add details just for this guest. Shortcodes like {{guest_first_name}} and {{check_in_date}} still work and are filled in automatically when the message is sent.

3. Choose what happens next: Save keeps the original send time — your personalized version is delivered instead of the template. Send now delivers the message to the guest within a minute.

Messages you've personalized show an "Edited for this guest" badge, and the preview shows your custom text. Your saved message template is never changed — the edit applies to that one guest only.

Does editing a scheduled message change it for my other guests?

No. Your changes apply only to the reservation you're editing. The saved template keeps going out unchanged to every other guest. To change the message for all future guests, edit the template under Scheduled Messages in your host menu.

Can I still use shortcodes in my edited message?

Yes. Shortcodes like {{guest_first_name}}, {{check_in_date}}, and {{check_out_date}} work exactly the same in a personalized message — they're filled in automatically when the message is delivered.

What's the difference between Save and Send now?

Save keeps the original scheduled send time — your personalized version simply replaces the template text when that time comes. Send now delivers the message to the guest within a minute instead of waiting.

Open the message with the ⋮ menu, choose Edit, and click Reset to original. The message goes back to following your saved template. If you don't want the message sent at all, choose Cancel message from the ⋮ menu instead.

Can I edit a message that was already sent?

No. Only upcoming messages can be edited. Once a message is sent or cancelled, it can no longer be changed — but you can always send a regular message in the conversation.

Will the guest know the message was scheduled?

The message arrives in the conversation like any other message. For you as the host, personalized messages are marked with an "Edited for this guest" badge in the Scheduled Messages panel.
