McHenry vacation rentals

A friend and I spent about a week in this home at the end of August, and it was perfect. Really nice home that is nicely maintained. Very clean, and all the spaces seem to have been recently updated, which was important to me. The whole home was very comfortable, especially the beds. We didn't do any cooking, but if we had, we would have had everything we needed. The kitchen was spacious and well stocked with supplies, better than many rental properties I've seen. Guests should note that there is no bathroom on the first floor, so you have to go up or down to use a bathroom. Not necessarily a problem, but helpful to know if someone has mobility challenges. Danielle is a great host. Communication was fantastic. All instructions were very clear, and the guest guide was so helpful for exploring the area and trying out local restaurants (Brenda's Pizzeria was THE BEST!). Only downside was that the home is on a shallow end of the lake and the water level was very low when we were there, so water access wasn't as easy as I might have preferred. However the place where I rented my kayak for the week allowed me to launch from their location, which wasn't too far away, so problem solved. Overall, a really terrific house for a week on the lake, and i wouldn't hesitate to rent here again!

We were looking in the area for a place with a hot tub and that was dog friendly. We found everything we needed and more. First of all, this home is big enough that 3 or 4 couples can sleep comfortably (Plus two pull out sofa beds for even larger groups.) We only used one bedroom while we were here but I think we gave 3 or 4 virtual tours to friends to show them the space. The game room was a really good time too. We spent hours having drinks and listening to music while playing games. Every room has a Roku TV so you can log into your pandora, Netflix, Hulu or whatever and enjoy it while you're there. The auto log out feature is also nice so you don’t have to worry about logging all of your streaming apps out. Now onto the house itself. Beautiful. Everything was so clean and cozy. The bed was very comfortable and the fireplace really helped keep the living room warm. We cooked a couple meals in the kitchen and there is laundry available downstairs. We were in town right when they started to make snow at Wisp. We spent a lot of time hanging out in the hot tub and watching the snow being blown onto the mountain. Overall a great time. The communication from Brian and Jill was great throughout the entire process. All of the instructions for checking in and out were delivered ahead of time and were detailed which made the whole experience easy. This is definitely a great property that is so convenient to the ski slopes in the winter and a short walk or drive to other local restaurants and shopping. We will definitely be back! Thank you! The place was amazing and is actually a brand new build. This was an extremely last minute rental due to other plans that fell thru this weekend, but Jill was incredible to work with. Response time was like something I’ve never seen. We also rented a boat and paid to use the dock which is assigned to the house. This was located right down the street and down steps to the lake. So while it wasn’t lakefront, we got to enjoy access to the boat and get back to the house. The steps down to the lake were about a 1/4 mile down the road (like walking one time around a football field, no big deal) The house was immaculate. The indoor pool and gameroom were great for my sons and their teenage friends. Just like the house, all of the appliances are brand new. Two washers and two dryers. There was a large grill that we used to cook 18 burgers at once. There’s was a nice area to hang out on the deck with a tv. We will 100% be back!

Their dedication to our comfort made our experience all the more memorable. In summary, our family of four had a wonderful time at this beautiful lakeside retreat. We wholeheartedly recommend this property to anyone looking for a perfect blend of elegance, comfort, and stunning natural beauty.

The house was very clean and looked just like the photos. The game room downstairs was nice with a shuffleboard pool table and foosball, plenty to do. The kitchen was extremely well equipped! Beds were comfortable. Only suggestion would be to switch out the queen bed upstairs for a king, the room is plenty big enough. Would definitely rent again.
