About Χαράλαμπος

I am a mathematician working in higher education in Greece. My permanent residence is in Ierapetra, Crete, where I also own some olive groves that I tend to whenever I’m in town. Since I was a child, I have always had a deep love for nature and wild animals. I’m especially saddened when I see plastics and other waste discarded carelessly in natural environments.

Last year, my wife and I began hosting guests in a 45-square-meter maisonette right next to our home, mainly as a way to support our family financially. However, what we truly gained were the wonderful friends and visitors we met along the way. All of them were exceptional, and we did our very best to make them feel welcome. As a result, we received perfect 5-star reviews from every single one of them on a well-known platform.

Encouraged by this experience—and despite the tough competition and reduced demand for independent rentals in Ierapetra this year (2025)—we decided to list our maisonette on Houfy, a platform that allows us to offer more affordable stays by avoiding unnecessary fees.

We hope this way, more people will be able to enjoy authentic Cretan hospitality in the southernmost part of Europe.
