La Bigorre Holiday Cottages - Stables - Saint-Germain-du-Seudre

A small complex of four holiday cottages with a heated pool in a rural hamlet, just 30 minutes from the beautiful beaches of Royan, St Georges de Didonne and La Palmyre.

We specialise in catering for families and have a superb range of equipment, toys and games for children of all ages. We aim to make holidays easier for parents so they can relax and be at home at La Bigorre.

Surrounded by vines, sunflowers and corn, there's little traffic here, making it a lovely peaceful and safe place to be.

The Stables can sleep up to six people, plus a cot, in two bedrooms. Wide French doors open into a large open-plan living space with fully-equipped kitchen, dining area and lounge area. The floors are tiled and therefore lovely and cool in summer.

Upstairs are two bedrooms, one master bedroom with king size bed and one children’s room with two single beds and a set of bunk beds, as well as a fully-fitted bathroom with bath and over-shower.

The Stables is ideal for families with younger children as it is very close to our toddlers’ area with swings and slide, games barn and pool as well as for couples looking for a relaxed holiday.

Children are well catered for with our fully enclosed and alarmed heated pool, garden swings, table tennis, pool table, table football, boules and DVD library. There are also plenty of books for both children and adults.

Alternatively, you may prefer to walk or cycle along the lanes amongst the vineyards and sunflower fields. We have plenty of bicycles (adult and child size) that you are welcome to borrow.

We live on site and are available throughout your stay to recommend places to visit, restaurants or just for a chat! We can also offer babysitting if available.

Gémozac, the nearest town, is a 10 minute drive or a pleasant 25 minute cycle ride away. It has all the expected services, including two well-stocked supermarkets, bakeries, pharmacy, banks, Post Office and a number of smaller shops as well as a very nice bar and restaurant. Also close by, the historic town of Saintes and the fashionable resort of Royan offer more shopping and entertainment options, as well as the beautiful beaches along the coastline.
