Front Loader Washer/Dryer at Tiki House
Don't need to pack that much when you can wash and dry what you need!
Tiki House has a great large capacity Whirlpool Washer and Dryer. We leave detergent for you. Or you can bring your own High Efficiency detergent, if you have special needs. The front loading washer and dryer are located off the kitchen in the pantry area. Feel free to use them!
If you haven't ever used them, or are having an issue, check out the owners' manuals below to help solve the simple issues. Many may be user error or easily solved.
Dryer
Just so you know, if you are drying a lot of towels on hot (and it does get hot!) you need to keep the top free to allow it to adequately cool. Storing or piling clothes will cause the temperature sensor to read too hot and cause an error. If this happens, clear the top, open the door to the area to keep cool, and open the dryer to cool down a bit. You may need to turn off the breaker to clear the error. The breaker box is next to the dryer and the correct switch is marked.

Washer
The washer is High Efficiency and does not require much soap. Too much detergent or soap will not rinse out. It is designed to work with less water and detergent both. If you use detergent marked HE, follow the directions on the label for use. The water at Tiki House is very HOT! This is required to insure sheets and towels are properly sanitized at cleaning. So be careful and be aware to only wash on hot if the garment can be washed on very hot. If you wash towels and linens, please separate whites from colors. We do not provide bleach to avoid misuse and damage to quilts and other non-bleaching bedding. We wash these items in non-chlorine bleach only! If you need bleach for your own use, feel free to bring it. The washer has a bleach dispenser for its use.
