St. Simons vacation rentals

A very enjoyable long weekend was had by all 8 of us. There were four adults and four kids and everyone got to sleep in a bed. The three levels allowed the adults and kids to have some space apart and the main living area is large enough that we were all able to eat and hang out together. The back porch is fairly private and is watched over by a large old oak with spanish moss, ferns and other fauna growing on it while the master balcony overlooks a nice expanse of inland marsh where you can watch its water level rise and fall with the tides. Either place is good for unwinding. We brought most of our own food and made all of our meals. We never went out to eat so I can’t talk about the island cuisine but there were some very good cooks in the group and the kitchen had what they needed for us to eat well. The beach is just a two or three minute walk away. The unit is close to a public access with a nice elevated walkway leading to the beach, making it easier to carry things to and from the beach. It is a bike friendly place and you can ride around the island fairly easily (we brought our own bikes, but they can be rented nearby). We went to the Village several times using a few different routes and we were able to ride on the beach itself, which was very enjoyable. The teens liked hanging out and shopping at the Village. We are looking forward to staying there again next time we have relatives in town for awhile.
