Beautiful property! The hosts have really thought of every detail. If you are looking to fall “off the grid” for a couple of days, look no further. Also, must mention how nice it is that the hosts are so welcoming to dogs.

I had the most wonderful stay at the Hohnstead. The property is breathtaking and there was something truly magical about spending a weekend here reconnecting with myself in nature. The cabin was absolutely adorable and perfect for someone who wants to convene with nature while also having a (very comfortable) bed and access to basic amenities. I loved exploring the forest, stargazing from the hammock, and disconnecting from the outside world. Alla and Garrett were wonderful hosts, friendly and quick to answer any questions I had while also giving me space to explore in solitude. I didn't have any issues during my stay but I feel confident that if I had they would have been addressed and resolved quickly. I highly recommend a stay here if you get the chance, it is truly a special place.

I happened upon The Hohnstead by chance while doing an internet search for stargazing retreats and I am so very glad I found them!! My visit turned out to be one of the most relaxing and peaceful mini vacations I have ever been on. The property is absolutely stunning and Garrett and Alla have created a wonderful little piece of heaven on earth. There’s lot to do (or not do) in the area. You can drive around and sightsee; for instance check out the Garden of 1000 Buddhas in Arlee; you can hike the M trail in Missoula or check out its breweries, restaurants, and shops. Plus there’s lots of outdoor recreation opportunities, too. Or if all you want to do is chill out at The Hohnstead and relax in a hammock or enjoy a hot tub surrounded by trees (everyone should have a hot tub in the woods), you can do that, too. Even the rain was enjoyable and very soothing, listening to it and watching it as it landed on the Stargazer’s roof and ran down its length. I haven’t planned exactly when just yet but I will definitely be returning!

We had a lovely 2-night stay here with 4 adults and our infant. We were commuting back-and-forth to Sugar Loaf Lodge for wedding festivities, and it was super nice to have our own comfortable space for the weekend. We're from Montana, so we knew the deal with Anaconda, but the short version is that the neighborhood is a mix of very rundown houses with recently renovated homes. This rental was obviously one of the very nice renovations, and we didn't feel unsafe, by any means — just an FYI for anyone who doesn't already know the area. The sauna was AMAZING, the kitchen was well-stocked, and the beds and furniture were very comfortable. Finally, the hosts were quick and wonderful to communicate with — thanks, Michelle and Bob!

This location offered everything we needed, including a full kitchen, walking access to several amenities, clean rooms, and much appreciated easy to use heating system in a Jacuzzi. The pictures accurately represent the property and it’s upgrades.

This house was wonderful. There was 11 of us, 7 adults and 4 kids, it was the perfect size for us and everyone had a bed which was great! The hosts were wonderful to work with and so quick to respond whenever I had messaged them. I had reached out to see if we would be able to check in early and they allowed that which was great. The house was so homey and clean. We ended up leaving a stuffed animal on accident and they were so kind as to reach out and let me know and we were able to go pick it up before we left town. It was all around a fabulous experience. I would recommend this house to anyone, especially if you have a big group! Nice, quiet neighborhood also. The kids loved the hot tub, they utilized it both nights! Thanks for a wonderful stay!

This home is the perfect location in Red Lodge. Tucked off the road with easy access to the highway and downtown Red Lodge shops and restaurants. Resting on a river front view which is so peaceful to listen to when you settle in for bed. The home provides all the things you could need for out of town travelers. From the kitchen to bathroom essentials, they’ve got you covered. This home is very clean and you feel comfortable going barefoot. The beds are comfortable and bedding is perfect for warm or chilly nights. Game nights are a breeze as they offer several to choose from. Outdoor includes a grill and fireplace that is easy to use. Plenty of seating to enjoy the views morning or night. This home allows easy access to drive the beautiful Beartooth Highway to Yellowstone. The views are spectacular. With being in nature the host kept us in the loop if we needed to be on the lookout for local wildlife. Thank you for an incredible stay! Fantastic host.

We had an amazing stay. We contacted the owner the week before we were set to check in as the forecast was calling for temps near 100. They were kind enough to install a window air conditioning unit which worked out great. Can't thank them enough for that extra effort. Super quiet place. Well stocked and very comfortable. Our dog loved having so much to explore. Having the windows open and the cool air at night made for some comfortable sleeping.
