France vacation rentals

What a great half term week we had at Phoebe and Jeff's lovely gite, Lou Messugo! We managed to keep everyone happy. The kids didn't want to leave each day as it all felt so homely. They loved the pool, ping pong, trampoline and Phoebe found the kids, bats and balls to play with and bikes to ride! The easy walk to the boulangerie gave us a lovely morning routine to collect croissants. I enjoyed the sense of space in the garden, such tall trees. It was so good to eat our lunch on the patio with the sun on our backs! Lou Messugo is brilliantly placed, close to masses of gorgeous places to visit! We ventured to Villefranche (gorgeous old seaside town), St Paul de Vence ( for Art!), Antibes and Grasse. We had quite an agenda when we arrived as we wanted to return to places we'd enjoyed on past holidays! Kids had s lovely outdoorsy time swimming in the sea ( in late October!) and climbing on rocks by the river. I had a day in a gallery whilst the kids hung out at the gite with their Dad! Easy to do as the gite was only 20 mins drive from Foundation Maeght ( St Paul de Vence) Phoebe's brill blog came in handy particularly for rainy day activities ( a great local swimming pool) and generally making each day trip easy to organise. We made picnics ( always better for kids) as the supermarket is also very close by. Looking back on the week it feels like we were away for longer as we packed so much in and still managed to relax...! Thanks to Phoebe for helping us plan our time so efficiently and for the lovely wine and crisps when we arrived. We'd definitely recommend Lou Messungo because the hosts are so helpful meaning you can really make the most of your stay. Thankyou Phoebe and Jeff! Jane and richard's house indeniably has a soul. You will feel it upon your arrival. Even if you enter their privacy, at no time you wil feel an intruder. Everything is welcoming here. The organization of the interior space is intuitive: things are found easily, as if the guest had designed them that way. The style is a tribute to the Entente Cordiale, between France and UK, but also present and past, countryside and modernity, apparent rusticity and great comfort, a mixture of genres always in the best taste. However, wherever the eyes fall, the house is full of charming details, a real “cabinet of curiosities”: the decoration, the paintings, photographs, ornaments, books, cds etc. A rabbit here, a duck there... Lewis Carrol and Beatrix Potter reunited ! In this regard, the connection between the interior and the exterior is harmonious. The best illustrations are the visits we had in the morning, for breakfast: little rabbits in the garden, birds... even a fawn! The colourful magic of Bambi in your garden ! In fact, the house is neither more nor less than like its owners, full of a caring presence, full of charming promises. Thanks for your kindness Jane and Richard . Alain, Aurore, Alicia and Aloys. There is absolutely nothing negative I can say about this beautiful apartment. Amazing view from the balcony where we spent almost every morning and evening. Tam was very welcoming and helpful. Both Jennifer and Tam were very responsive to all our questions. We had no problem checking in a little early, Tam explained everything and recommended restaurants. Easy tram ride from airport and very convenient with both bus along the Promenade and tram stop nearby. The beds were very comfortable bedrooms had lots of storage. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you may need to cook if you wanted to. Grocery stores very close by. There was a feeling of being in someone's home with plants all around and nice decor. The bathroom was small but the shower was very nice. All in all, the place felt well loved and I would definitely stay there again.

I had the pleasure to stay at the house twice. The first time I stayed with friends at the end of April 2017 and the second time I stayed with family in the beginning of June 2017. I really love the house, not only is it located in the middle of the woods, it is beautifully build. It has a recently renovated practical and modern kitchen with all appliances you will need or could need. During my first stay the weather was still not very good and we were able to enjoy lovely evenings sitting around wood fires in the dining room. During my second stay it was warmer and we could spend the evening outside enjoying a glass of wine. On both occasions dogs came along. I think this must be the closest to dog heaven you can get: a fully fenced in garden to explore, you can take several walks outside the property and in walking distance you find streams they can swim in. And it is only a short drive to the beach or the dunes. Basically the house has everything you can ask for and with the swimming pool in the garden, you don’t really need to leave. In the village of Moustey you can find all you basic shopping and restaurants to eat. And it is only a short driver to Pissos, Biscarrosse, Arcachon and Bordeaux, if you do feel like leaving the house. The house is very secluded and peaceful, but you do have great and helpful neighbours close by. I really felt sad leaving and do hope to visit sometime in the near future.

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour, au calme, dans un lieu arboré et dépaysant. Un vrai coup de cœur tant par le lieu que ses proprietaires. Mélanie et Pierre nous ont très bien accueilli, ils ont été disponibles et nous ont toujours proposé des équipements pour faciliter nos déplacements à la mer où dans les environs. Le logement était très propre, fonctionnel et agencé avec beaucoup de goût. Un vrai cottage modernisé où la nature est l'essence de ce petit coin aménagé. Si vous êtes proches de la forêt et de ses habitants, vous pourrez voir et entendre les écureuils, de quoi se ressourcer et se reconnecter avec la nature environnante. C'est sans conteste le lieux le plus charmant visité où règne magie et confort. De la literie aux équipements, rien ne manque, le logement est très confortable, si sa surface peut paraître aixigue, il n'en ai rien. L'ouverture sur l'extérieur est un atout et rend l'habitat plus spacieux. Une adresse à recommander.

Kim & Heather made us feel most welcome to their special (C18?) french house and outbuildings which are lovingly kept up. They were always available to answer queries about the locality and to offer friendly local tips with good humour. Their dog, Charlie was another welcoming, friendly presence. On the other hand, our privacy was respected and the terrace to our rented 'cottage' / gite was entirely ours alone, leaving us free to enjoy the peace of the beautiful surroundings undisturbed. Our hosts had thoughtfully provided us with many conveniences to make us feel relaxed and comfortable. These thoughtful touches included designing a space to conveniently park the car beside the entrance to the cottage, which, by the way, provided excellent clothes laundering (and airing) facilities .... not to mention swimming towels and everything else we required, was readily on hand. We relished the beautiful surrounding countryside and the sense of timelessness and nurture that this unspoilt region of France offers. N.B. The character of the nearby rivers, Brantome (exceptional!) and other attractive towns and villages are just round the corner.

L’appartement est face a la mer. Le divan était confortable avec une grande TV. Le wifi est impeccable. La cuisine est très complète avec quelques produits pour bien démarrer café, sucre, sel, poivre,… et dans le frigo on avait déjà une grande bouteille d’eau. Tout le matériels qui se trouvaient dans la pièce nous a été expliqué très très clairement par Lise. La chambre un très grand lit ce qui a plus à mon mari qui est grand. 2 terrasses avant vue sur la mer/arriere le parking. Personnellement nous n’avons jamais été dérangé par du bruit. Il y a aussi de la documentations, des jeux et livres à notre disposition. Et nous avons eu un accueil au top de Lise. Nous avons mangé aux restaurants la favorite, la voile bleue à Bray-Dunes très bien. 2 autres restaurants à vous conseiller la Dona et Comme vous voulez à Dunkerque . Notre chihuahua a été le bienvenue.On y retournera avec plaisir. Merci Lise

Wir waren für 2 Wochen , die Gäste von Rosi und Mike , in deren , sehr aufwendig , und stilvoll restaurierten , Ölmühle. Rosi und Mike haben uns sehr herzlich aufgenommen, und uns mit Tips , für die Sehenswürdigkeiten , in der Umgebung , von Lardiers ( von denen es , eine Menge gibt !!! ) versorgt. Sie stehen einem wirklich , mit Rat und Tat zur Seite , und wir müssen sagen , dass Sie , gute Gastgeber sind. Die Räumlichkeiten , sind sehr stilvoll und gemütlich eingerichtet . Eine Wendeltreppe führt hinauf , in das Schlafzimmer , dem das Bad angeschlossen ist. Der Blick aus dem Schlafzimmer , ist einer der Höhepunkte , dieser schönen Wohnung. Man hat , von dort einen einzigartigen Blick , auf die , gegenüberliegende Bar de la Lavande chez MOJO , der einem , dieses französische Flair , vor Augen führt , welches man sich, von Frankreich vorgestellt hat , und wird uns unvergessen bleiben. Der Ort Lardiers , lädt zu Spaziergängen , durch die engen und traumhaften Gässchen ein , und bietet eine große Auswahl , an tollen Fotomotiven. Da wir unseren Hund mit hatten , haben wir auch die Wege , um Lardiers beschritten , und sind mit der beeindruckenden Landschaft der Haute Provence beglückt worden. Banon ( 13km ) und Forcalquier ( 18km ) laden je 1 x , in der Woche , zu Märkten ein , die man auf jeden Fall besuchen sollte. Dort wird man mit allem , was , die Haute Provence an Spezialitäten zu bieten hat ( und auch das ist einiges !! ) durch die Märkte , förmlich gezogen und ‚petit’ , verwöhnt. Roussillon , Gordes , Valensole ( unendlich, weite Lavendelfelder ) Simiane la Rotonde , alles sehr sehenswerte Orte , die die Geschichte und beeindruckende Landschaft dieser wunderschönen Gegend aufzeigen, sollte man auf jeden Fall , besuchen. Wer Frankreich mag , dem bietet die Haute Provence , einen tiefen Einblick , in das französische Leben , den Genuss , die Freundlichkeit , der Menschen , Landschaften pur - für uns , ein unvergesslich schöner Urlaub.
