Have a small group, but wishing for an oceanfront location ? Tired of lugging your beach equipment back and forth to the beach ? Want easy access to a toilet without walking blocks back to your house? Check out the downstairs unit of this charmingly updated original Holden Beach duplex. Youll find a greatroom decorated in a cheery beach motif, a fully stocked kitchen, 3 flatscreen TVs with expanded cable , 2 bedrooms and a full bath. Sliding glass doors lead to a deck with Adirondack chairs, a perfect place to relax while studying the beautiful night sky. Your private boardwalk will lead you over the dunes to your slice of heaven on Holden Beach. Challenge yourself on the Holden Beach Fit Trail located just across the road. Youll find a hot/cold outdoor shower right outside your door, great for rinsing off before coming in for a fresh seafood dinner !! Pet friendly, and the Holden Beach Dog Park is a short walk down the street! charcoal grill. This is a ground-level unit with no ocean view. From the Oceanside windows you will see the dunes. From the streetside windows you will see the marsh and the intracoastal waterway beyond. We purchased this home when our children were young. We used the 2 bedroom downstairs ourselves and rented the 3 bedroom upper unit. We did not want to be in our renter's way, or make them overly aware of us. So we put in separate boardwalks, separate showers on each boardwalk, separate bench seating on the deck, and we insulated heavily between the floors. Our children grew up and had children of their own. We'd outgrown our cozy 2 bedroom unit. We then put in a spiral staircase that connects the two units, so it can be used as one 5 bedroom home with two living areas and two kitchens during the peak summer season when large combined families vacation together. We have a lock out door and insulation for the stairwell that we put in place during the spring and autumn. We've rented our lower unit and the upper unit simultaneously to unrelated parties for many years now. We have no problems or complaints about this arrangement from our renters who choose our home. Offering both units for rent simultaneously allows us to price very competitively. The VRBO listing number for the 3 bedroom 2 bath upper unit is 870264. The VRBO listing number for the whole house (5 bedroom 3 bath, 2 kitchens, 2 living areas) is 869594.

This home rents weekly. Saturday Check In. Saturday Check Out.

ABOUT BRINGING YOUR PET:
This pet friendly property allows one small dog (under 45 pounds) along with a $250 non-refundable pet fee. Any additional or larger pet(s) must be approved by property owner and may result in multiple pet fees. This fee is not to cover damages caused by a pet, but just covers the privilege of bringing them along on your vacation. Any cost resulting from damages, extra cleaning, fleas, odors, etc. that occur as a result from a pet being in a property will be deducted from your refundable security deposit.

-Please pick up any and all pet waste after your pet whether on or off the rental property.

-Puppies are not allowed.

-Nails must be clipped to avoid scratching damage.

-The pet MUST be on a flea program, and owner must be able to provide evidence of such program if required.

-The pet can NOT be left unattended.

-The pet is NOT allowed on the furnishings or in/on bedding.

-Pets are NOT allowed on the beach from May 20 to September 10, with the exception of the hours from 5:00 PM to 9:00 AM. Daytime during the summer season the beach is off limits to pets and fines may be given by beach patrol to anyone with a dog on the beach.

-It is the guests responsibility to report any problems or damages caused by their pet. Please see #14 on your Rental Lease Agreement.

ABOUT HOLDEN BEACH ;
Welcome to Holden Beach, North Carolina, where family values and old fashioned fun are still a part of your vacation. Holden Beach has a very small commercial area on the island. That point is considered by many to be a key reason to keep them coming back year after year. While there are limited commercial establishments on the island, everything one could desire is located within a short driving distance.

The causeway leading to the island contains numerous specialty stores and shops, and the Town of Shallotte just 10 minutes away has several chain grocery and department stores that provide all the necessities. Wilmington and Myrtle Beach are only 35-45 minutes away and if you cant find what youre looking for there, it doesn't exist.

There are over 125 superb golf courses within a one-hour drive from Holden Beach. Courses range from very challenging to user-friendly for golfers who dont always hit the ball where they want it to go. The Myrtle Beach area is perhaps the best region in the United States to find a course just right. Seasonal rates vary.

Boating, fishing and hiking the island are very popular activities. Shell hunters can find so many that the kids will fill up the car when they return home. The island is a sea turtle habitat and during the hatching season (May to October) those who dont mind staying up late at night can witness one of natures most interesting pleasures watching hundreds of small sea turtles "boil out of the sand and marching to the ocean.

There is no other North Carolina barrier island like Holden Beach. Low commercial impact, hundreds of beautiful rental homes (many with dockage for fishing and pleasure boating) and a wholesome family-oriented atmosphere.

Payment Policy
ADVANCE PAYMENTS. All reservations require a $200 deposit at time of booking after which a rental lease agreement will be mailed or emailed to you immediately. The rental lease agreement must be signed by you and returned to our office with your advance rental payment of 50% of the weekly rental amount plus a processing fee, tax, trip insurance, by the due date. Advance payments can be paid by personal, certified/cashier’s check, cash, credit card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover or Debit card).

Refundable Damage Deposit
SECURITY DEPOSITS. A security deposit is required on all rentals.  
The security deposit will be refunded back to the guest who booked the reservation and will be refunded back to credit card of the initial 1st payment of record. Refunds are credited back to the 1st credit card used to book and hold the reservation, provided the cottage is left in good condition, no items are missing including batteries from remotes, no damage has occurred and no service calls or expenses to the owner have resulted from:  moving or disconnecting electronics or furniture, smoking in a NON SMOKING property, having a pet in a NO PETS property or pet damage or additional cleanup, exceptionally dirty or not adhering to the requirements of duties by guest prior to check out, non-standard departure clean, long distant phone calls, cable charges, etc. The security deposit may be applied to actual damages or expenses caused by tenants, as permitted under the Tenant Security Deposit Act. Should damages or expenses occur that exceed the amount of the security deposit, the remaining balance will be billed to and paid by the guest. Please register and report any problems, un-cleanliness, or damage in your property the day of check-in, or you can/will be held responsible.  Allow 30-45 days from day of departure for refund.

Cancellation Policy
CANCELLATIONS AND TRANSFERS. In the event there is a cancellation or a transfer of a confirmed rental for any reason, Holden Beach Vacations must be notified in writing, email or fax.  We will make every reasonable effort to re-rent the cancelled property. If the cancelled property is re-rented for the original lease amount, tenant will receive a refund of the payment made less $225.00 or less, reservation fee, applicable taxes and the trip insurance premium. Refunds will be made within 60 days after receipt of entire balance due on new reservations, on same property, same rental period, and same rental rate; otherwise no refund will be issued.  Owner reserves the right to re-rent the property at a reduced rate on behalf of the property owner and to cancel overdue payment reservations without notification.
