ENJOYING OUTDOORS:
Enjoy 360 degree views. Asheville celebrates all four seasons but the temperatures are unpredictable. It can snow today and you will be sunbathing tomorrow. You might enjoy snow in the winter, flowers in the spring/summer, and amazing colors in the fall. Watch for wildlife like turkeys, foxes, horses, bears, deer and definitely lots of birds and squirrels.
Asheville has around 40 breweries such as French Broad, Wicked Weed, New Belgium, Highland, Hillman, Burial, and Asheville Brewing Company. Get outside for some great hiking, biking, kayaking. Check out the Biltmore House, Grove Park, River Arts District, NC Arboretum. The home is 10-15 min to almost everything in Asheville.
If you love wine, take the short trip to Hendersonville for some of the best award winning wines like Point Lookout, Stone Ashe, St Paul and more. In the late summer don’t forget to pick apples at the local apple orchards.
Head to Mills River for Sierra Nevada, Burning Blush, Bold Rock and Mills River Brewing, then continue onto Brevard for great hiking and waterfalls like Looking Glass, Triple Falls, Bridal Veil and on a hot summer day brave the Sliding Rock. Of course, Brevard is home of Ecusta Brewing and Oscar Blues.
Or go the other direction to climb to the top of Chimney Rock, hike the Hickory Nut Falls Trail and have dinner at Burntshirt. PS My favorite wine there is Sunset Sippin.
