The Tiny Red Barn on the Reservoir
The Tiny Red Barn was built by us, for you—set on 26 private acres along the shores of the Diascund Reservoir. It’s the kind of place where mornings start slow, coffee in hand, and end with golden sunsets over the water. The kind of place that makes you feel like you’ve finally stepped away.
Our land is heavily wooded, with winding trails that invite you to wander. Along the way you may encounter deer moving quietly through the trees, turtles along the water’s edge, and the steady rhythm of birds overhead. Chickens roam nearby, and if you’re lucky, you’ll spot a blue heron lifting off the shoreline… or a bald eagle circling above the reservoir.
And then there’s the water.
A large portion of the property opens directly to the Diascund Reservoir—calm, expansive, and just steps from your stay. Launch a kayak at sunrise, cast a line in the quiet of the evening, or drift in a canoe as the light fades across the water. It’s peaceful, simple, and exactly what most people don’t realize they’ve been missing.
The Tiny Red Barn itself is designed for easy, relaxed living. Just under 1,000 square feet, it comfortably sleeps up to six guests and was thoughtfully built in 2021. Inside, you’ll find a full kitchen, cozy sleeping loft, and open living spaces that keep you connected—to each other and to the outdoors just beyond the windows.
The screened-in porch quickly becomes a favorite spot. It’s where mornings stretch a little longer and evenings settle in without interruption—no bugs, just the sounds of the woods and water around you.
Whether you’re here for a true getaway, a few quiet days by the water, or to use us as your home base for Williamsburg and the surrounding area, The Tiny Red Barn offers something rare—space to breathe, room to explore, and a setting that feels both fun and completely your own.
Animals on Property
One of the most memorable parts of staying here? Our mini donkeys. They’re gentle, curious, and often a guest favorite to watch during your stay.
To keep everyone safe and stress-free:
Please enjoy the donkeys from a respectful distance—no feeding, chasing, or entering their space
Do not feed or disturb any animals on the property
One approved dog is allowed per stay
Dogs must be leashed and with an adult when passing the donkey area along the driveway
Dogs should be well-behaved and supervised at all times
If you’ve been looking for a place to unplug, reset, and enjoy the outdoors without giving up comfort… you’ve found it.
