About this place
Your own bedroom and full bath within MetaProp's shared living space. High-floor views and a balcony overlooking the Hudson River.
PropTech House is MetaProp's apartment in Midtown West, and when you're in New York to see us, it's yours.
It's a two-bedroom on the 21st floor of La Premiere at 230 West 55th, laid out the way you'd want it if you were designing for guests: the bedrooms sit at opposite ends of the living space, each with its own full bathroom. Practically speaking, you get a private one-bedroom. A real bedroom with a door that closes and a bathroom nobody else uses — not a sofa bed, not a shared hall bath, not a hotel room with a desk wedged against the bed.
What's yours. The second bedroom and the second full bath, for the length of your stay. Closet space that fits a week. A bed made up before you arrive.
What's shared. The living and dining room, the windowed kitchen — fully stocked, coffee and the basics already there — and the balcony, which faces west toward the Hudson and is the best argument for the apartment. Most evenings you'll have all of it to yourself.
The building. Doorman and concierge, twenty-four hours, who'll have your name before you walk in. A full-service garage downstairs if you're driving. A fitness center off the lobby. A roof deck with the skyline in one direction and the river in the other. Laundry room off the lobby (there's no washer/dryer in the unit — that's the one thing we'd change).
The neighborhood. You're a block and a half below Central Park, five minutes from Columbus Circle, and around the corner from Carnegie Hall and the Theater District. Three subway lines within two blocks. Whole Foods at the Circle. And the stretch between 8th and 9th in the 50s, which has more good, unfussy dinner than anywhere else in Midtown — ask us, we have opinions.
One thing to know. PropTech House is also where we test what we invest in. The lock on the door, the thermostat, the way your arrival gets scheduled — some of it is software built by companies in our portfolio, and you may be among the first people outside the company to use it. If something delights you or annoys you, tell us; that's genuinely the point. There are no cameras and nothing recording inside the apartment.
How you get here. Someone at MetaProp offers it to you. That's the whole process. We never charge for a stay — not rent, not cleaning, not a deposit — and the apartment is never rented or sublet to anyone. It's a place we keep so our team and VIPs have somewhere to land.
