The Bohemia Charmer - Earleville

Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. In the Hack's Point Community, on the shores of the Bohemia River, this home will give you plenty of opportunities to relax, no matter the season.

This home has the closest proximity to the community beach and pier, and it also exudes historic charm with a stunning 2-story fireplace, hardwood & stone flooring, and built-ins.

***There is no guest access to the pier for storage or day-use of boats***

The space
The home dates back to the 1930's, but has all the modern conveniences you desire. With four bedrooms and two full baths, there is space for families or groups to travel together. The living room is the focal point of the home with the 2-story fireplace and flagstone flooring. The fireplace contains an electric insert that can provide ambiance any season of the year, while also having the option to produce supplement heat if desired. Enjoy the breathtaking views of the Bohemia from almost every window throughout the home! The community beach is mere steps away!

Accessible from both the dining room and the living room, the cozy kitchen has all the tools you will need to cook tasty meals for your family (or a microwave if you want to make quick work of it!). Eat at the large dining room table or use it to play games that are at the house for your group's enjoyment.

Upstairs, there are 4 bedrooms and 2 full baths (there are no bedrooms or bathrooms on the first floor):
~A primary with a queen bed, ensuite bathroom with rain shower, and private balcony to view the river.
~The center bedroom has stunning views of the river and marina with a queen bed.
~The side bedroom has a double bed and a private balcony to view the river.
~The rear bedroom features bunk beds and also houses the washer and dryer.
~A shared full bathroom in the hallway has a beautiful clawfoot tub to soak in.

In the warmer months, the 3-season room will be a favorite of everyone to watch the activity on the water and give access to the community beach. A quick walk down the steps at the end of the property leads to the sand where you can get some sun and cool off in the Bohemia.

***There is no guest access to the pier for storage or day-use of boats***

If you desire to explore beyond the walls of the house and the beach, a short drive across the river gets you to Bohemia Manor Farm Vineyard where you can enjoy their beautiful grounds and taste their wines.

They also have a beautiful disc-golf course that is FREE to play! If you need a frisbee, simply ask a bartender to borrow one during business hours. Look for more information on their website or my guidebook.

Just past Bohemia Manor Farm is the newly opened Bohemia River State Park. A small entrance fee will get you to some nice hiking trails through forest and meadow areas with access to the river as well.

In a short 10-minute drive north, you can find Chesapeake City where there are some great restaurants and cute shops along the C&D Canal. Take your bike and spend the day riding (or walking/running) the C&D Bike Trail that follows the canal. Or, if you are looking for some larger stores, 20 minutes away in Middletown, DE you can enjoy tax-free shopping. The drive there includes beautiful views of horse farms.

Guest access
Upon arriving at the house, you will park in the gravel driveway with space for 3-4 cars, in front of the garage. A concrete walkway leads you to the vestibule of the main house where you will stay. A keypad on the door gives you reliable access to the home.

Other things to note
There are cameras on the garage, at the exterior of the front door and sunroom exterior door. They are motion sensor activated and record both audio and visual for 15 seconds after being activated. Though they are motion activated, I do not always view the recordings.
