The space

Welcome to Serenity Sol! Outfitted for all your needs, this charming cottage is ideal for solo travelers, couples or small families to relax and unwind. After a day out on the water, guests will find themselves back at this cozy escape just a short stroll from the beach. Sway the rest of the day away on the large hammock while you prepare some of your favorites on the grill. As the sun sets over the skies, take in the evening breeze on the expansive deck along with your favorite beverage. When settling in for the evening, take time to relax in the open floorplan living area while watching your favorite movies on the large flat-screen Roku smart television or playing a family favorite board game. Serenity Sol is equipped with everything you need to make it the perfect stay in Surfside Beach!

Other things to note

Our home is located in a quiet residential neighborhood. Please be respectful of our community and neighbors. Parties, events, or large gatherings are strictly prohibited. In addition, excessive noise at any time is never allowed and quiet hours are in place every day between 10 p.m. and 8 a.m.

The location of our home affords close proximity to all conveniences and amenities. While it is not beachfront, it is just a short 5 minute walk to the beach.

The sleeping arrangements at our home can accommodate up to 6 guests with a queen bed in the primary bedroom and a twin bed and a twin-over-full bunk bed in the guest bedroom.

We welcome experienced, responsible/responsive and positively reviewed guests over the age of 25. Any and all persons staying or visiting the property must be 18 years of age or older unless accompanied by a parent or a legal guardian.

A copy of the guest's government issued ID must be shared with the host upon a confirmed reservation. This is for safety and security purposes and is strictly required in order to stay at our home.

Pets allowed with restrictions and additional fees (please see house rules).

Public water supplied by the Village of Surfside Beach has been known to occasionally have a discernible smell and taste. Accordingly, while safe for bathing and washing, it is not recommended for drinking nor cooking. Please research and plan accordingly; bringing bottled water or purchasing it at the nearby convenience stores is advised.

Property has 2 motion-activated exterior security cameras (at entry/deck and patio/driveway areas) that record sound and video 24/7 and decibel monitoring sensors inside and outside of the home to ensure neighborhood noise levels are respected. Tampering/removing equipment will result in a minimum fine of $300.

* Check in after 3:00 PM. * Home is accessed by August Smart Home keyless entry using a personal code, which will be provided a couple days before check-in. * Please inform us of any problems or concerns upon arrival, but no later than within 3 hours of check-in, so that we can work to address these immediately. * Guests must alert the Host to any issues regarding maintenance, request for repair service, or otherwise. * Guests must also allow the Host or its representative access to the property to remedy the issue after the Host has been notified. * If a guest does not alert the Host to any issues or if the guest stays after the issue is remedied or addressed, no remuneration or refund will be possible. * If a guest is unresponsive, the Host will assume the issue is remedied and there will be no further action required.

Minimum age limit for renters: 21

We welcome responsible and responsive guests over the age of 21. Any and all persons staying or visiting the property must be 18 years of age or older unless accompanied by a parent or official legal guardian.

While we do allow for younger guests (age 18 and older) to occasionally stay with us on a case-by-case basis, for safety and security purposes, below are our requirements for considering to do so:
• A complete list of names, phone numbers, and ages of all guests who will be at the property.
• Copies of government issued photo IDs of all guests.
• Confirmation from each guest that he or she understands and will fully comply with our house rules, particularly our strict prohibition of underage or illegal consumption of alcohol and use of controlled substances or related drugs on the property.

If you or anyone in your party is found in violation of the above policy, your reservation will be terminated immediately, you and/or your guests will be escorted from the premises, and you will be subjected to any related fines.

Please be respectful of our home, neighborhood, and community. Violation of any of the following rules are grounds for cancellation of your stay and immediate removal from the property:

- No smoking or vaping.
- No parties, events, or large gatherings.
- No excessive noise; quiet hours in place between 10 p.m. and 8 a.m.
- No underage drinking or use of illegal substances.
- Copy of a government issued ID must be shared with the Host upon confirmed reservation.
- Any loss or damage to real or personal property of a Host caused by the fault, negligence or intentional misconduct of a Guest (and any of their guests or pets) shall be charged to and paid for by the Guest.

Responsible guests and their well-mannered furry companion are welcome to our home, for whom the following pet policy applies:
- Only one dog weighing 50 pounds or less is permitted unless agreed upon in advance with the Host. No other pets or animals allowed (e.g., cats, birds, etc.), and a penalty fee of $100 per unauthorized animal, per night will apply.
- An additional pet fee of $100 (before fees and taxes) per stay will apply.
- The dog must remain within the owner’s control at all times, either on a leash or in a carrier as appropriate.
- The dog must never be left alone on the property. However, for only short periods of time when it is not possible for the owner to take the dog with them where they go, then the dog can be crated or confined to a specific area in the home.
- We expect the dog to be completely house trained. Please clean up after the pet.
- The dog is not allowed on the furniture/beds.
- We count on the owner to prevent the dog from making excessive noise, being disruptive, or exhibiting aggression toward other guests or neighbors.
- In the unlikely event the property requires additional cleaning (e.g., fur/hair, potty, etc.) or if damages are incurred as a result of the dog, you will be charged additional fees starting at a minimum of $300 for services and repairs.

A guest manual with detailed guidance and helpful information will be made available at time of booking.

Payment Policy

Please check your credit card to be sure you have trip cancellation/interruption insurance. If not, Guest should consider purchasing it in case of emergency, illness, or bad weather, etc., as there is no refund policy unless Owner rents to another group. Guest are welcome to try Generali Global Assistance (formerly CSA Travel Protection) through our personal link at https://tinyurl.com/VacationRentalInsurance. Refunds are only issued if we have a mandatory evacuation in our area. Please read the fine print of the insurance policy carefully.

Refundable Damage Deposit

As a security deposit alternative, Houfy Protect, an upfront nonrefundable low cost property damage protection policy for just $5 per night, is taken at time of booking.

Cancellation Policy

Due to the nature of the vacation rental business, we cannot accept cancellations occurring later than 45 days to the arrival date. You will forfeit all sums paid unless we are able to re-rent the property, in which case we will refund an amount equal to any subsequent rental less a $100 handling fee. If a cancellation occurs prior to 45 days to arrival, full refund will be issued less a $100 handling fee.

In the event that a guest cannot make a trip due to a family emergency, illness, bad weather, flight/rental car cancellation, job loss, COVID-19 ban/restriction, etc., the guest should seek reimbursement through their travel insurance. If a guest cancels a reservation, all eligible refunds will be governed by the cancellation policy agreed upon at time of booking. No refunds outside of the cancellation policy will be possible unless a mandatory evacuation is ordered for the area.
