Pinecrest Retreat - Angwin

A quiet four-bedroom house on Howell Mountain, tucked into the pines at the top of the Napa Valley. Angwin sits at about 1,800 feet, roughly 20 minutes up the hill from St. Helena - close enough to spend the day tasting, far enough that the evenings are all treetops and birdsong. Howell Mountain's wineries, CADE among them, are minutes from the door.

The living room is built around a floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace, with sliding doors opening straight onto the covered patio. The kitchenette has been fully remodeled - shaker cabinetry, quartz counters, stainless appliances - and sits open to a dining room that seats six to eight.

Three bedrooms run off a single hallway: One queen bed, a primary with a king with a ceiling fan, and its own door out to the garden, and a full sized trundle bed with a twin pull out bed. The bathroom is newly finished, with a glass walk-in shower and marble-look tile throughout.

Outside, two covered patios do most of the living. One is brick-paved and set up for lounging under string lights; the other holds a round table and swivel chairs for a long dinner outdoors. The lot is wooded and private, with a driveway and off-street parking.

A good fit for two or three couples, or a family who would rather come home to pine trees than a busy city.
