About this place
Surrounded by the breathtaking scenery of Snowdonia National Park, this spacious detached five-bedroom home combines modern comfort with distinctive mid-1970s character. At its heart is a bright open-plan living and kitchen space, opening onto two balconies with spectacular coastal views. With five bedrooms, three bathrooms, and a large garden, it's the perfect retreat for families and groups to relax, explore, and enjoy time together.
The space
Pant Golau House ( meaning“Valley of Light”) is a beautiful, light filled, open space. The delightful interior gives a contemporary and stylish interpretation of the original 1970s features.
At the heart of the home is a wonderful open plan kitchen, dining, and living area of over 65m² (the size of a standard two bedroom flat). It features a fantastic wood burner for colder nights and sliding doors onto the balcony for warmer ones.
The kitchen is fully equipped with modern, high-spec conveniences, including a dishwasher, oven, microwave, cooler, and washing machine.
The dining area has two white tables and a long bench, providing plenty of space for 10–12 people. There is also another table at the far end of the lounge which can seat up to 8 if required, offering flexibility and separation if needed.
The house divides into spaces that are ideal for three families or groups. Upstairs, off the enclosed hallway, is the newly refurbished main bathroom. a delightful double room, a twin room ( both with built in storage cupboards ) , and a small single room.
Downstairs, beneath the lounge, is a spacious newly refurbished bedroom (17.5m²). It features a king-size bed with bedside lighting, a large wardrobe, and a desk, with ample additional space that can easily accommodate a child’s sleeping area. Located directly opposite the second bathroom, which boasts a superb shower and vibrant décor, this layout is ideal for a couple travelling with a young child.
Back in the entrance hallway, which can also be used as a flexible space or games area (for example, for snooker or table tennis ), is the door to the ground-floor annexe. This self-contained space allows for privacy from the rest of the house and includes its own bathroom with built-in wardrobe and washing machine, along with a very large bedroom/living/dining area (25m²). there is enough sleeping space here for extra children; using the sofas, cot or small foam mattress than can be provided free of charge.
This space has a unique retro charm, filled with art and quirky touches inspired by the 1970s. Full of character and creativity, it offers a truly distinctive and delightful place to relax and unwind.
Both downstairs bedrooms and the upstairs balconies open onto spacious patios or first-floor decks, all with fantastic views towards the coast.
Outside, the house is set within generous grounds, offering plenty of space to relax, explore, and enjoy nature. The grounds feature a variety of spaces, including a woodland area with a stream and a charming overgrown Victorian folly, adding a touch of mystery, character, and welcome shade. There are also wildlife-friendly areas, an open lawn, and a games area. Numerous spots for outdoor dining and evening drinks can be found throughout the grounds, including a fire pit area, which seats 12, a large outdoor dining table, and seating on the patios and balconies, ensuring something for everyone to enjoy.
The location is delightful, apart from the views across open fields, the marina, and the coast, is just a short walk away. There is a wonderful array of local wildlife, particularly birdlife.
Despite its peaceful setting, the house is conveniently located—just five minutes’ walk to the station and coast road, and a little further to Llanbedr village with its fine shops and eateries.
Harlech Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is only three miles away, along with the renowned Royal St David’s Golf Club (ranked among the UK’s top 100 courses). Llanbedr is also the gateway to the Rhinogydd mountains, with excellent walks directly from the house. Nearby highlights include the valleys of Cwm Bychan and Cwm Nantcol (with the beautiful Nantcol Falls), as well as the Celtic rainforest at Coed Crafnant.
The local beach is a must—just a 15 minute walk away. Harlech Beach, part of the Wales Coast Path, is also close by.
The train service is a fantastic way to explore the coast, with easy access to places like Barmouth and Harlech. Snowdonia’s mountains are also on your doorstep, perfect for exploring by car or on foot.
With the wonderful Welsh coastline on one side and mountains on the other, this family and pet friendly home offers a truly special place to relax.
