The space
Spend summer days on the lake or hiking Deep Creek and Swallow Falls State Parks, then roast marshmallows at the fire pit or relax in Adirondack chairs on the covered deck. In winter, Wisp Ski Resort is minutes away for skiing, snowboarding and snow tubing. Warm up by one of 2 indoor stone fireplaces or the outdoor fireplace on the covered side porch, or soak in one of 2 custom stone-tiled tubs under vaulted ceilings.

SLEEPING: 2 king suites, 4 queen bedrooms, plus 4 couches. Larger groups by request.

MAIN LEVEL: Great room with leather sofas, soaring windows, stone fireplace and wall-mounted TV; dining area; kitchen; 2 queen bedrooms; 1 full bath; 3-tier deck, wraparound covered porch, covered side porch with outdoor fireplace, and the fire pit on the grass.

UPPER LEVEL: 2 king master suites with private baths and a shared balcony, plus a loft.

LOWER LEVEL: Rec room with ping pong, LED air hockey, foosball and shuffleboard; lounge with leather sofas, wall-mounted TV and stone fireplace; 2 queen bedrooms; 1 full bath; patio access to the fire pit.

KITCHEN: Large butcher-block island with bar stools, stainless appliances, cookware, bakeware, toaster, slow cooker, coffee maker, dishes, kids' cups and food storage containers, plus a dining table for the whole group.

FUN EXTRAS: Board games, puzzles, cards, poker chips and coloring. Rustic log bed frames; hair dryers in the baths.

ALL SEASONS: Winter brings skiing, snowboarding and tubing at Wisp. Summer means boating, kayak and pontoon rentals, the state park beach and the Wisp Mountain Coaster. Fall brings foliage, golf and whitewater rafting. Every season ends at the fire pit.

HOST FAVORITES: Hike the roughly 1-mile trail past 4 waterfalls at Swallow Falls State Park, then hit the beach at Deep Creek Lake State Park. For dinner, try Brenda's Pizzeria, Mountain State Brewing Co., Firewater or Dutch's at Silver Tree. Shop 'n Save is about 10–15 minutes away and sells firewood; Walmart, about 20 minutes away, delivers via its app. Rainy day? Try the indoor pools at the Garrett College Community Aquatics & Recreation Complex (CARC).
