About this place

Spacious lodge in deep woods, multi-family retreat, wireless Internet

This beautifully maintained home is very roomy, designed for large groups. With 2 Calif King beds, 6 Queen beds, 4 full beds, and 7 twin beds (as well as 4 twin air beds) you can easily fit your extended family or group in our homey atmosphere, perfect for a families, church ministry, club or other retreat. There are so many options for sleeping arrangements that you can arrange your group easily.

What makes our cabin different than others in Shaver Lake? We are in a very quiet area, so you are not right on top of other groups. We are handicap accessible on the ground floor, including a wheelchair ramp and roll-in shower. We have a spacious house that was designed for larger groups so you have plenty of seating for hanging out in large or small groups (getting away from each other or being all together), we are kid and pet friendly, we have a walking trail across the bottom of our acre plus yard, plenty of parking space, really nice kitchen utensils and place settings, we make up the beds for you before you come, we have a gas BBQ, a two-person Jacuzzi tub, and--well, so many other nice features!

Nestled deep in the majestic western Sierras (but easily accessible by road) our 4,000 square foot retreat with its spacious kitchen, 4.5 baths, 8-12 person bunkroom (3 full-over-full and one twin-over-twin), 3 big master bedrooms, living room, den and well equipped meeting room (or extra large bedroom), man-cave with surround sound hi-res TV, this retreat has an atmosphere of quiet and comfort.

Fall, spring and summer guests enjoy spring skiing, hundreds of miles of hiking and bike trails (one even passes through our backyard), popular 4 wheel drive roads, rock climbing, backpacking, guided horse tours, world class freshwater fishing (lake and stream, stocked and native), natural hot springs, kayaking, canoeing, swimming, wake boarding, water skiing, boating (rentals available) and nature viewing.

Winter Guests enjoy spectacular downhill and cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, snowboarding, snowmobiling, and sledding.

The "Queen's" bedroom is easily converted to a meeting room with worktables and chairs to seat up to 24 people. It has a sink and lots of electrical outlets for any activity; it is used for computer retreats, sewing workshops, business retreats and craft workshops. Upstairs and garage are handicap accessible, with a bathroom & shower for wheelchair access. The Man Cave offers a place to just hang out and make noise without bothering anyone else.

The constant on-demand water heater never runs out of hot water so even with a houseful of guests you have plenty! Fully equipped kitchen with granite countertops, all cooking gear, and a table seating 12 at a time.

This cabin does NOT have air conditioning, but Shaver Lake is rarely uncomfortably hot. Opening windows at night, then closing them in the morning can keep the house cooler.

Things you will love about this cabin: the beds are made up for you so you don't have to put sheets on when you arrive! The layout provides lots of seating arrangements and places for smaller groups to gather, so you can accommodate a large group and still have privacy for breakout groups, making it perfect for large families. There is a hiking trail off the back of the property, so you can hike most seasons (or snow shoe during the winter months) without driving anywhere. This is a very quiet neighborhood so you can really enjoy nature without seeing a lot of people; deer, coyote, raccoons and other creatures amble across the property all day and night. The roads and the driveway are cleared by a snow plow, so you won't be stuck in a large storm. There is a large deck to hang out on and enjoy the woods.

Instant Booking is available for your convenience; please note that we reserve the right to cancel your booking if we find out your group does not meet our requirements.

I love the Sierras! Hiking, swimming, fishing, skiing, horseback riding--all this and more! My favorite place in the world is Shaver Lake. I love to draw and paint, breathe the fresh piney air, and spend as much time as I can in Shaver Lake.
