Welcome to Fjordgård, right at the foot of Senja's most famous mountains, Segla and Hesten!

Our guesthouse has 3 bedrooms, this listing is for "Mountain View", a double room with view on the mountains and fjord.

Apart from your booked bedroom, you are welcome to use the entire house, including the kitchen, living room, TV lounge, bathroom, balcony, patio and the BBQ hut.
You get one free parking spot with each booked room. If you have more cars you can contact us in advance or park at the town's parking lot, which costs around 300 NOK/30 EUR per day.

From our house, you can already see Segla and it is just a few meters to the trailheads to Segla, Hesten and Barden. You can see the fjord and mountains from every window of the house and we are only a few meters away from the water, with a small beach at the end of the road. When it is rainy, you can chill under the roof on our balcony or in the BBQ hut while waiting for the northern lights or midnight sun. The BBQ hut is also a great place to enjoy dinner, maybe you even want to borrow our basic fishing rods to try and catch it yourself! We also have snowshoes, skis, kayaks and SUPs for rent (subject to availability).

Getting around

From Tromsø, Fjordgård can be reached by car and public transport. With a car you can either take the land route, or you can take a ferry. The fastest public transport connection takes about 1:20h. I recommend checking all possible connections at tromskortet.no. The shop and trails to hike Segla and Hesten are just a few meters away.

House Rules
- There is free parking for 1 car per booked room.
If you have more cars you can also park at Segla Parking, just remember those things are quite expensive here as it is around 300 NOK/30 EUR per day.

- As many guests arrive by public transport, the parking spot is not cleared from snow by default.
If you need the parking spot cleared for your arrival, please let us know at the time of booking and we will happily set up 1 clearing before the check-in time, this service is free :)
Snow cleaning equipment to use during your stay will be available either way.

- We can not offer any refunds or free changes to the dates of a booking.

- If you only book one room, we, other guests or our cleaning team might be in the house at the same time

- You are welcome to use the common spaces but please always keep your personal belongings and luggage in your booked bedroom so other guests are not disturbed.
E.g. clothes or equipment can't be hung up in the bathroom or suitcases can’t be stored in the hallway. If you need a place for something, just ask us :)

- Please clean the kitchen after every use so other guests can enjoy it too
(e.g. remove used coffee powder and remaining coffee from machine and clean pots after cooking, dry and return them to their shelf)

- Of course you are welcome to use the dishwasher to clean dishes (not pots and pans), just make sure to also start and empty the dishwasher.
All things should be sorted back into the shelves before leaving.

Things to note:
- The house is not secured for small kids and we currently do not have any equipment like baby beds etc.
You can bring your kids, but every guest uses the property at their own risk
- No guest is allowed in the basement
- If you want to use the BBQ hut, you do so at your own risk and are responsible for putting out the fire completely before leaving the hut unattended
- To use the hut you will have to buy wood or coal at the store and have to keep the opening hours in mind
- We are not liable for any lost, damaged or stolen items
- Only guests mentioned in the booking are welcome. If a guest brings anyone who is not mentioned in the booking on the premises at any point a fee of 1500NOK/ 150€ per unannounced guest applies

- If a guest overstays check-out time without discussing it with us prior to the last day, we have to charge the cost for our cleaning team, 500NOK/ 50€ per started hour after the check-out time
- In case a guest loses the house key we have to charge 1500NOK/150€. The bedrooms of the house currently use the same key and can therefore not be locked individually
- The red garage is not ours, parking in front of it is not allowed and will result in a 1500 NOK/ 150€ fee
- We want to provide internet access to our guests and they are welcome to use our WIFI for free. However, technical issues might occur and the lack of internet access or fluctuations in speed do not qualify for refunds

Notes
The area: Here in Fjordgård there is a small supermarket with integrated café and a pub. Many people come to Fjordgård to visit the iconic summit of Segla. From our house you can already see the mountain and just have to head up the road to reach the starting point of the famous trail. Apart from the popular hikes around Segla, Hesten, Barden and Inste Kongen (Kongebrua), Senja has many other things to see. The Ånderdalen national park, Tungeneset, Ersfjordstranda (it might sound weird, but there is a famous toilet there!), Husøy, Hamn i Senja and the Bergsbotn viewing platform over Bergsfjorden are some of them. If you want to take further trips, aside from Tromsø, the next bigger city is Finnsnes. Some guests also want to visit Narvik or Harstad. To the east there is Lyngen and the Three-Country Cairn, where Norway, Finland and Sweden meet. To the west you find the Vesterålen and Lofoten islands. There are a few ferry connections here that make exploring trips easier: you might want to take the ferry from Senja to Andenes to explore the Lofoten, or the ferry to Brensholmen to explore Sommarøy and Kvaløya.
