Set on a fenced acre with nearly 100 towering Jeffrey Pines, this fully fenced pet-friendly oasis offers a variety of outdoor activities. Kids and adults alike have a playground of amenities to choose from: volleyball, basketball, a hot tub with TV viewing, hammocks, horseshoes, mini golf, bean bag toss, tetherball… or uncork a bottle of wine & break out our S’mores kit to gather around the fire pit! If indoorsy is more your vibe, step into our newly remodeled game room where you’ll find air hockey, a pool table, two arcade games, a gaming area, board games, a mini kids’ foosball table, and 3 TV’s for the ultimate entertainment experience!

The backyard deck has a custom-built wood table, perfect for outdoor meals, working remotely, or homeschooling surrounded by sounds of nature. Our gas BBQ is cleaned and ready for your enjoyment…and when the sun sets. charming string lights create a magical backdrop for an evening of outdoor gathering & star gazing.

We welcome your well behaved, house trained fur babies. Dog bowls are available for use, no need to bring yours. Don’t forget their crate, toys, and waste bags. Dogs are not allowed on any furniture, if you’re not okay with that, please look for another pet- friendly cabin that better suits your needs.

We take great pride in Trout Lodge and are constantly improving it for your enjoyment. We are very hands-on and visit our property often for maintenance & quality control. We strive to make your experience memorable, but remember some things are outside our control such as spider webs (or spiders), pine needles & pollen when in the mountains. We have an amazing team of housekeepers, maintenance crew, pest control, spa service, etc; they work hard to ensure the cabin is spotless and ready for you, but the elements are constantly working against us. If any issues arise during your stay please reach out and we will do our best to remedy the issue in a timely manner.

IMPORTANT BIG BEAR LAKE NOTICE:

Big Bear’s noise ordinance requires quiet hours between 10 PM and 7 AM, and no outdoor speakers or loud noise 24/7. Occupancy is limited to 3 vehicles and a maximum of 8 guests (including children). Violations may result in city fines or eviction, as enforced by Big Bear regulations. At check-in, you'll be required to sign the city’s “Good Neighbor Policy.” Big Bear requires guests to dispose of their own trash at the city dump when checking out, this is not our policy. All hosts and guests alike in Big Bear Lake must follow the trash rule.

Guest access
Guests have access to all amenities on our private property. After you book your reservation we will email our rental agreement along with Big Bear’s “Good Neighbor Policy” for your review and signature. Once we receive your completed contracts and a copy of your valid government issued ID, we will
forward our Cabin Information Sheet which contains all the information needed for your stay such as property address, combo lock codes, and your personalized door code . You may park up to 3 vehicles in the designated area in front of the property .

There are 3 locked doors that serve as housekeeping supplies and owners closets, you do not have access to these areas during your stay.
There are a couple small outside structures next to the
corn hole that are used for storage and are also not part of the rental.

Rest assured, you’ll enjoy complete privacy during your stay— there are no shared spaces or amenities, the entire property is yours to enjoy!

CHECK-IN
Big Bear REQUIRES us to obtain a photo copy of your drivers license; it must match the name on your reservation through the platform. The person on contract is also REQUIRED to sign Big Bears “Good Neighbor Policy” and our rental agreement. Once we have the signed agreement and a copy of your Driver’s License, we will email you our “Trout Lodge Information Sheet” containing everything you will need for your stay.

ROAD CONDITIONS-
Always check road conditions on Cal Trans and plan accordingly. Roads may be icy during winter months. Chains are required to be carried November 1st- April 30th, even if the weather looks clear it can be unpredictable and it’s the law. We do no refund for weather or road conditions- please buy travelers insurance.

Big Bear occasionally has power outages. If the power goes out it is not because we haven’t paid the bill, it’s nothing in our control and we cannot be responsible for such an occurrence. It generally comes back on in an hour or so, but it can last longer. We have emergency lights plugged in the walls and you can use the two stove oven fireplaces for heat, THEY TAKE REAL WOOD ONLY. We do not refund for power outages not in our control; it’s part of the mountain “charm” and occasionally we have to “rough it”.

HOUSE RULES
Total house occupancy per the city of Big Bear is 8, this includes infants, children, and guests you invite (even for a short while, such as a dinner guest). Maximum of 3 vehicles permitted at our property at all times, per city of Big Bear Lake. The city can fine and evict you if you have more than 8 so please don’t put yourself & guests in a terrible position. There’s lots of cabins that can accommodate more persons if needed.

You are in a wilderness area, do not leave children and pets unattended. Please make sure not to leave pets outdoors at night, coyotes are looking for food.

DOG FRIENDLY
Dogs are the only pets we allow, with prior approval.
Our pup guests have a blast playing on the property, it’s like their own private pet park, but we want to be mindful of guests with allergies so dogs are not allowed on ANY furniture, including couches and beds.
If housekeeping finds pet hair on sofas and/or beds despite guests agreeing to the house rules we will require an additional $200 minimum pet cleaning fee, on top of your regular cabin cleaning fee. PLEASE be respectful of our home and other guests- believe me, we KNOW when your pets have been on the beds and couches! If you’re not okay with this pet rule, please do not book.
*Additional pet cleaning fees will be charged if we need to take bedspreads to the dry cleaners, or have the couch upholstery professionally cleaned due to your pet.
*All waste on the property must be picked up and properly disposed of at the Big Bear Trash site (address on the cabin information sheet)

We want you to enjoy your stay & make memories here. However, this property is not set up for parties. It is surrounded by full-time residents and we are respectful of our peaceful and quiet community. I’m sure there are other locations that can accommodate large or loud gathering.

ABSOLUTELY NO SMOKING
This includes marijuana (even medical), hookah, etc. The smell stays in the home and is immediately evident. A professional cleaning fee and air purification service will be charged to you- MINIMUM $500 violation.

ALEXA
We have an Alexa in the kitchen and the game room. If you would like them to be disabled during your stay, please let us know- do not unplug them.

SPA
Please DO NOT touch “EMERGENCY SHUT OFF” switch unless it’s an actual emergency. This is NOT an on/off switch. You do not need to turn the spa on or off; it remains at 102 degrees for the most part. If you need it lowered please shoot me a text and I’ll be happy to adjust with my app. Please keep the cover on when not in use to maintain the temperature and safety of pets & children. The spa is cleaned before each guest. It’s possible they had to dump and fill the entire spa water if the last guest left it too dirty, or we may have had to add fresh water if the level was low. Unfortunately it may take awhile to reach desired temperature. Please know the only reason the water might be cooler when you arrive is because we wanted to ensure it was clean, sanitary, and full for you.

BIG BEAR LAKE RULES
Please review the City of Big Bear Lake's Good Neighbor Policy

Do not exceed the occupancy limit

Do not exceed the stated occupancy at any time during your stay. The maximum number of adult occupants may be less than the total maximum occupancy. NO PARTIES ALLOWED.

No parking in street or yard

Parking is only permitted in the driveway, designated parking spaces, and garage. This includes trailers. The maximum number of vehicles permitted is on the exterior sign.

No amplified music 24/7

Amplified music is not permitted to be heard beyond the property line 24/7. Close your windows to avoid music carrying beyond the property line.

Head inside at 10:00 p.m.

Noisy outdoor activities and spa use are prohibited from 10:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.

Take your furry friend with you

Take your dog with you so they do not disturb surrounding neighbors. You will find that Big Bear Lake is very dog-friendly!

Take trash to dumpster locations

Trash needs to be taken to a local dumpsite. Clean Bear locations: 41970 Garstin Drive & 39690 Big Bear Blvd. Please have a copy of your rental agreement or reservation showing the address in case they ask.

Camera
We have cameras at the front entrance and parking area to monitor publicly visible areas like the front door, gate and parking. These are the only cameras on the property.

Fines

The minimum fine for violating the rules stated previously is $500 per violation. A second offense is $1000 per violation.

Eviction

Unruly guests who blatantly disregard the rules and expectations will be evicted without a refund. In addition, costly citations may be issued to the undersigned.
