Lookout Lodge - Hammond

Lookout Lodge is a spacious, seasonal cabin perched above the water on Black Lake, offering beautiful lake views from multiple areas of the home. This three-bedroom, 1.5-bath cabin comfortably accommodates up to ten guests and provides direct access to a private dock block.
Guests enjoy a semi-private section of the campground with a two-car driveway, picnic table, private fire pit, and charcoal grill for their use. Inside, the cabin opens to a central hallway, where a full bathroom with a walk-in stand-up shower is located immediately to the right. All three bedrooms are located to the left of the hallway. The first bedroom contains a twin bunk bed and the other two are furnished with a queen bed. Continuing through the home, guests will find a compact kitchen featuring a dedicated coffee bar, along with a nearby half bath. A step down leads to the main gathering spaces, with the dining room to the left offering seating for six and the living room to the right providing plenty of seating for relaxing together. The living room includes one queen sofa bed for additional sleeping space. Glass doors lead out to a private deck overlooking the lake, where guests can relax or take the stairs down to the private dock for fishing or spending time by the water. Please note that access to the dock requires the use of stairs.
Located within Back Bay Campground, Lookout Lodge offers a private setting with full access to campground amenities, including a heated pool, 24/7 arcade, walking trails, and a camp store offering seasonal rentals and activities. Whether you’re spending the day out on the water, exploring the campground, or unwinding back at the cabin, everything you need for a relaxed lake stay is close at hand. Lookout Lodge is well-suited for large family gatherings or friend groups, offering plenty of room and seating.

Guests enjoy exclusive access to the cabin, deck, and dock. A private driveway is available and accommodates up to two vehicles.

During the off-season, please contact our staff through the app for assistance. During the on-season (May 1 through September 30), when the camp store is open, guests are welcome to stop by with any questions. For emergencies, please call the phone number listed in the guestbook.

Back Bay Campground and Cottages is a family-owned and operated lakeside retreat located on the southern shores of Black Lake in upstate New York. Known as one of New York’s premier fishing and boating destinations, the campground sits just minutes from the scenic St. Lawrence River and the charming town of Hammond, NY. The property is thoughtfully designed for guests who want to enjoy the lake at a relaxed pace without the crowds and noise of large commercial resorts. Guests enjoy easy access to the water and docks, along with shared amenities such as a heated swimming pool, arcade, and picnic areas. An on-site camp store offers convenient rentals, including boats, kayaks, and lawn games, so you can fully enjoy the lake without leaving the property.

Back Bay Campground is located on a quiet lakeside road and is accessible by car only. Public transportation and ride share services are not available in the area; therefore, guests must plan to arrive with their own vehicle. Once on the property, guests can easily explore the campground on foot, including access to amenities and walking paths. Cell service may be limited in certain areas due to the rural setting.

🌦️Seasonal Cabin
Lookout Lodge is currently a seasonal cabin and is available from May 1 through September 30. We plan to open the cabin year-round in the future, so please check back for updates.
🛏️ Sleeping Arrangements
This cabin accommodates up to 8 guests and includes two bedrooms with a queen bed and one bedroom with a twin bunk. The living room has a queen sized sofa bed.
🏡 Located on a Campground
Lookout Lodge is located within Back Bay Campground and offers a private setting with access to shared campground amenities. Some amenities and rentals may be seasonal or weather dependent.
🌊 Dock Access
Guests can take the stairs down the cliffside to a private dock, perfect for fishing, swimming, or relaxing by the water. Dock access and water conditions may vary depending on season and weather.
🐾 Pets
Please contact us prior to booking if you plan to bring a pet. Restrictions and additional cleaning fees may apply.
💡 Good to Know
The private dock is accessible by multiple flights of stairs. The cabin is also situated near the RV sites, so guests should expect a longer walk to the camp store and other amenities.
