About this place

Panoramic countryside valley views in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, from a private and spacious cottage. Abundant local activities perfect for small groups & families and a lovely gastropub 2mins walk away.

Beautiful walks on your doorstep, plus canoeing, river rafting, paddle boarding, fishing all local.

Glyndyfrdwy heritage railway station is 0.5 mile from the house and Llangollen with a range of independent shops, pubs and restaurants is easily accessible by car or steam train.

The cottage is light and airy with plenty of space for groups or families to spread out. It accommodates 6 adults in 3 bedrooms plus two children in a jack and jill room.

There is a large lounge with French doors opening out to a patio area, leading to outdoor seating overlooking the scenic Dee Valley. We supply a BBQ grill for guests to use and an outdoor log burner for the evening. Outdoor games like croquet and giant jenga are also available for guests to enjoy.

There are board games and a record player for more nostalgic entertainment on any rainy days. A Bluetooth speaker provides access to a wider range of music and we also provide a Roku TV stick with some Now TV channels and sky sports during the football season.

The beds and linen are very comfortable, with clothes storage provided in all adult bedrooms.
The kitchen is well stocked with large pans for communal cooking, coffee machine, plus gin, wine and champagne glasses for those special occasions. We also provide things like oils and basic dried herbs.

Additionally we can setup desks for stays over 2 weeks if people are working away.

Glyndyfrdwy is very quiet and friendly with lovely riverside and valley walks. There are some picturesque pubs like the Berwyn Arms and the Grouse Inn (recently awarded best gastropub in North Wales 2022) with great food and outstanding views. It also homes a historic heritage steam railway station with tours running throughout the Dee Valley.

Llangollen is less than 10mins away by car, taxi or bus, or you can take the scenic route in using the steam train.
Llangollen is a vibrant town with an eclectic mix of contemporary and traditional independent pubs, restaurants and shops. There are numerous festivals and lots of art and craft clubs. Canoeing, paddle boarding and waterrafting are all popular persuits available on the River Dee.

There are some fantastic walks in the area. Llangollen canal takes you over pontcysyllte aquaduct, take a leisurely stroll to see the horseshoe falls, go see Valle Crucis Abbey or hike up to the castle ruins at castell dinas bran.

The heritage steam train is a great way to explore. Do be sure to check return times though.
