The Durango Community Recreation Center is close by and features: lap and leisure pools, hot tub, water slide, outdoor splash pad, racquetball courts, indoor track, aerobic studio, gymnasium, free weights and weight equipment, cardiovascular equipment, climbing wall, youth games area, community meeting rooms, and outdoor amphitheater.

✹TRANSIT: Catch a safe, affordable, and convenient ride on the beloved red Durango Trolley, with a trolley stop just a short walk from the house, that will take you up and down Main Avenue.

This home is located in a uniquely lovely and quaint location in the sweet antiquity of Animas City, just minutes north of downtown Durango with innumerable outdoor adventures such as hiking, mountain biking, climbing, river rafting, river surfing, horseback riding, fishing, snowboarding, downhill skiing, cross county skiing, and snowshoeing.

The house is on a dead end street, so there is very little traffic.

The charming Animas City Museum is one block away.

Access to the Animas Mountain Trail is less than a block away, and accessible from our backyard. Enjoy this 6.0-mile loop trail, generally considered a moderately challenging route, which takes an average of 3 hours to complete. This area is popular for hiking, mountain biking, and rock climbing.

The Animas River Bike Path is only a few blocks away, which follows the meandering Animas River for miles, leading to downtown Durango and beyond.

A trolley is a mere two blocks away, providing rides to downtown.

We are walking distance from City Market and Walgreens, the Durango Recreation Center and five local-favorite restaurants.

We are 25 miles south of the ski slopes at Purgatory Resort.

Two garage spaces and two driveway parking spaces are available. Please do not park in the street unless absolutely necessary and for short periods of time.

The house is two blocks away from a trolley stop that provides transportation around Durango.

Durango Transit system consists of buses (called The Lift) and trolleys that run in three convenient lines weekdays from 7:00 a.m. to 8:40 p.m. The Lift lines connect at College Drive and Main Avenue, Fort Lewis College, and Albertson’s. Any sign bearing the red Durango T logo is a bus stop, and the fare is typically $1. The historic Durango Trolley runs along Main Avenue from Days Inn to College Drive (6th Street) in 20-minute cycles from 7:00 a.m. to 10:40 p.m. each day.

Late nighters can catch the Late Night Weekend Bus Friday and Saturday nights from 11 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. The Late Night Bus will transport riders anywhere within Durango city limits north of the U.S. Highway 160/550 intersection.

Rental e-bikes are available at Roll eBike. "Book online 24/7 for 2, 4 or 8 hour and multi-day ebike rentals (includes free delivery within 10 miles of Durango). We offer something for everyone—singles, couples, families (kids 6+), groups, employee team building days, and ebike and paddle board combo packages.
