Enjoy a peaceful getaway in a modern cabin with sweeping mountain views, dark skies, and more than 17 acres of private property bordering the Moosalamoo Recreation Area in the Green Mountain National Forest. Hiking, biking, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, swimming, fishing, and skiing are all within reach. After a day outdoors, relax on the deck, gather around the firepit, or settle in beside the wood stove.
Brandon’s shops and restaurants are about 15 minutes away, and Middlebury and Rutland are within a 30-minute drive. Major ski destinations, including Killington and Sugarbush, are also within an hour's drive.
The bright, open living area features large windows, mountain views, a 65-inch smart TV with Roku, a Harman Kardon Bluetooth speaker, board games, and a wood-burning stove with plenty of firewood for cozy days indoors. A heat pump provides both heating and air conditioning.
With two large desks, fast Wi-Fi, and a printer, the cabin is also well suited to remote work, writing retreats, or an extended mountain getaway.
The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, pots and pans, and other cooking essentials. Coffee options include a Keurig coffee machine, a stovetop moka pot for espresso, and a French press.
The indoor dining table seats six, and the spacious deck offers outdoor dining with views of the Brandon Gap. A large mudroom provides space for coats, shoes, and outdoor equipment.
The two first-floor bedrooms sleep up to four guests: one has a queen bed and the other a full bed. Both have blackout curtains, and a full bathroom is also located on the first floor.
An open sleeping loft overlooking the living area has room for two additional guests. The loft has a low ceiling and is best suited to children ages 6 and older and may be awkward for taller guests.
This is an entire-home rental, so the cabin and 17+ acre property are yours to enjoy. The setting offers plenty of room to explore, unwind, and experience Vermont’s mountain landscape. Our firepit is a favorite spot for taking in the views, especially as the evening sky fills with stars.
The long, wooded driveway extends nearly a quarter mile past a small beaver pond and up a hill. It offers privacy and scenery, but winter driving conditions require preparation. The driveway is plowed after snowstorms, but an all-wheel-drive vehicle or appropriate winter tires are essential during winter conditions.
There is no washer or dryer available for guest use. Wi-Fi is fast, but cell phone service can be spotty. The property is surrounded by wildlife, and visitors may include hummingbirds, beavers, and other local wildlife.
A maximum of 6 guests and up to 2 well-behaved, house-trained dogs are welcome. Cats cannot be accommodated. Please ensure your dogs are current on vaccinations, and keep them under control around wildlife and in accordance with applicable leash requirements.
