Family-Friendly Coveside Cottage - Ashland

Welcome to the Coveside Cottage! Ideal for groups and families, this property boasts a functional layout and gorgeous views with over 500 feet of shoreline including a private, sandy swimming beach. Take in Lake Superior’s Chequamegon Bay from nearly every room!

The open concept kitchen is stocked with everything you need to cook for and entertain your family and friends: Large granite island (seats 8), breakfast nook (seats 4) gas range, convection oven, dishwasher, and refrigerator with door ice maker. Abundantly stocked with utensils, pots and pans, bakeware, hand mixer, blender and more.

The living room features walls of windows overlooking the lake, ample seating, and a queen-sized sleeper sofa, as well as a wall mounted Smart TV and DVD player. A gas fireplace warms up those chilly fall nights.

The main floor bedroom, or “Fisherman’s Escape” is ideal for those looking to hit the lake early with a private entry as well as a queen bed.

Heading upstairs you will notice a cushioned window seat, perfect for morning sunrises or relaxing with a good book and the incredible view. The master bedroom has a large balcony (16ft x14ft) overlooking the lake with deck chairs. A king and queen bed, make this room perfect for families. A Keurig coffee maker allows you to easily brew a cup of coffee take in the sunrise on the balcony.

The forest view bedroom features a queen bed, walk in closet, and looks out over the woods. This room is darker in the mornings and is ideal for the night owls of the group.

The lakeside room has a view of the water as well as a queen bed and walk in closet.

The lake is shallow, clear, and wonderful for swimming! We have a single and double kayak for our guests to use. Bring your boat and launch it in nearby Washburn or Ashland and use our dock to enjoy all the lake has to offer.

Set up yard games such as crochet and bocce ball or shoot some hoops on the paved area. Relax on the stone patio in the outdoor living space (we spray for mosquitos), making dinner on our gas grill and dining al fresco. Once it is dark, end the evening with a campfire and smores in our fire ring (firewood is available for purchase nearby). Looking to explore nearby, you are 20 minutes south of Bayfield, for shopping, the marina, tours, and more. Visit the sea caves of the Apostle Islands by kayak or tour boat, take the ferry to Madeline Island, book a charter fishing boat, or check out the local apple orchards and berry picking! Live music and entertainment at Big Top Chautauqua is back for the 2021 season! Golfer? Head to one of many beautiful nearby courses for a round.

5 minutes from Ashland, WI provides convenience and charm. Shopping on main street you will find antiques, toys, handmade chocolates and more. Great restaurants from fine dining lakeside to casual fare and fast food. Take in the mural walk or visit a local park and playground and pier.
